In the heart of Gdańsk’s vibrant downtown, AïOLI Inspired by Gdańsk stands as a tribute to the city’s dual nature — historic and rebellious, elegant and raw. It’s not just a restaurant; it’s a manifesto of flavor and freedom, boldly echoing its motto: “We Are Not Sorry.” This is the kind of place where Mediterranean warmth collides with Baltic coolness — where every dish feels alive, spontaneous, and unapologetically full of character. Atmosphere & Design AïOLI Gdańsk occupies a spacious, loft-style interior filled with natural wood, exposed steel beams, and walls that look like they’ve witnessed stories of dockworkers, sailors, and dreamers. Warm lighting spills over wooden tables, and the open kitchen hums with energy. The atmosphere feels industrial yet soulful, perfectly mirroring Gdańsk itself —a port city reborn through art, grit, and passion. Music swirls softly in the background — a mix of indie beats and jazzy rhythms — making it just as fitting for a creative meeting as for a slow, late brunch. 🍤 Shrimp with Mango Salsa A burst of tropical sunshine in the northern air. Crispy golden shrimp coated with shredded coconut arrive on a banana leaf, topped with bright mango-chili salsa and a side of smoky aioli dip. It’s playful, juicy, and perfectly balanced — the kind of appetizer that immediately wakes your appetite. 🍲 Thai Soup This bowl is pure comfort. Rich coconut milk infused with lemongrass, chili flakes, and lime leaf — the flavors dance between spicy, creamy, and citrusy. Served piping hot in a deep violet bowl, it’s both aesthetic and aromatic, a tropical dream reimagined for the Baltic coast. 🍜 Pad Thai & Thai Udon Fusion AiOLI takes inspiration from Asia but keeps a European soul. Flat noodles mixed with tender chicken, sprouts, and peanuts — garnished with lime and fresh herbs. It’s a light yet satisfying dish that carries a punch of flavor without losing the refined touch that defines the AïOLI brand. 🥩 Beef Steak with Grilled Vegetables A modern masterpiece of color and texture — medium-grilled steak resting on crispy potato cakes, surrounded by broccolini, cherry tomatoes, and pickled radishes. The plate looks like a painting — each color deliberate, each bite layered with depth and smoky tenderness. 🍹 Drinks & Vibe From freshly squeezed juices to signature cocktails, the drink list feels like an artist’s palette — citrus, spice, and spirit combined with flair. Bartenders here mix with both precision and personality, and every sip feels handcrafted for the moment. Final Impression AïOLI Inspired by Gdańsk is more than a restaurant — it’s an urban heartbeat, a space where taste meets attitude. It captures the essence of Gdańsk: maritime, artistic, and boldly modern. ✅ Vibrant, industrial-chic atmosphere ✅ Diverse global menu with Mediterranean and Asian flair ✅ Exceptional plating and bold flavors ✅ A confident brand identity that dares to be different

After a bad experience 3 years ago, we decided to give AïOLI another chance. What we've experienced this second time around: 1. Misleading menu with terrible mistakes (options marked as vegetarian containing cow meat). The waiter said 'yes, it is wrong' and kept looking at us; 2. When we opened one of the napkins under our cutlery, it had an old chewing gum within the layers 🤢; 3. The focaccia bread served to us was partially fresh, partially old/hard; 4. Ginger and honey lemonade was really good, but served with such a cheap paper straw that desintegrated before I finished my drink; 5. They did not have the soda we ordered from the menu, brought another one (which is fine, happens), but without highlighting it almost served us the other drink. Only when we asked the waiter gave a 'yeah we did not have the other one'; 6. For the price point, food was mediocre at best; Will not be coming back to a third chance.

During RESTAURANT WEEK, we decided to try AïOLI for the first time and have a birthday celebration there. The dishes were quite delicious, and the service from our waitress was courteous. We were attracted to this restaurant mainly because of the photos of its second-floor interior on the festival.restaurantclub.pl website. However, when we arrived, we were disappointed to find that everyone was seated on the first floor instead. We were also promised Martini Fiero & Kinley Tonic Water as part of the program, but AïOLI didn't provide them. We thought they might offer us something else, but unfortunately we had to buy drinks separately, which were priced very high, by the way. To top it off, we found broken plates during our meal. There were at least three of them (the photo attached) ... Overall, it feels like we wouldn't want to come back.

A bunch of amateurs with no communication skills. We were a group of 6 and they had us waiting there for 40 minutes, only to tell us that not only they don't have tables but also that they didn't expect to have any tables any time soon. To clarify, once we arrived they told us to wait until a table is empty so we can sit. We were waiting for 40 minutes, until we spoke to the woman who was the manager, apparently.

She responded like we just arrived there, in a highly arrogant way with a "I really don't care" attitude. So wr asked her, "why didn't you inform us about that so we could leave?"
