Worst service EVER. EVER.
I just couldn't believe how bad the service was at such a high-rated place. We came here in the morning wanting breakfast. I explained that I couldn't eat raw eggs because of my pregnancy. Since all the dishes had poached eggs, I asked if they could cook the eggs a little bit more so they are well done or make them fried instead. The waiter REFUSED, point-blank. I tried to ask for a different kind of egg - hard-boiled, scrambled, fried, you name it, I just wanted eggs, I didn't care what kind. But the waiter refused again, saying even though fried eggs are on the menu, you can only order them on certain days a week (which is NOT stated on the menu). I tried asking again, I tried explaining this was a special case of a health issue and could they please make an exception - it's just cooking the eggs for another minute on the pan!! Nothing more!! - but the waiter still refused. I asked if he could please ask the supervisor, but he refused, saying he had asked many times and the answer is always no. We were absolutely furious. We had no time to look for another restaurant so I ordered pancakes, which were the blandest I have ever tasted.
I have been to many countries and had many breakfasts and I have never, ever, ever experienced such a disappointment and such blatant inflexibility and indifference to a very reasonable request.
Later our family came to join us, but the waiter promptly informed us that it costs EXTRA if you are 5 people or more at the same table(?!) which is something I have never heard of before anywhere in the world, so we sat separately. My sister-in-law tried to join us but it was impossible to move the tables, and when the waiter did, he spilled olive oil all over the table and didn't even bother cleaning it so she had to eat over it. The waiter did not apologize or smile even once the whole time we were there.
Bottom line: WORST. SERVICE. EVER. This experience ruined my mood for the rest of the day and we will never, ever set foot in this...
Read moreJust a 5 minute walk from from Stara Synagoga this little gem has proven to be a hit with the tourists and the locals. A small menu, keeping it simple keeps people comming back for good food at reasonable prices. My family of 3 ate like kings with a two course evening meal with desert & alcoholic drinks. The clasic burger is a treat, loaded with extra bacon & cheese served with fries, coleslaw & mustard. Scrumptious! A small variety of deserts but keeping to the favourites theme you can't go far wrong here. Very accommodating waiting staff & a cooked to order yet quick turn around on orders. Local beer is more than acceptable with a glass of chardonnay coming in at around 10zl. Excellent atmosphere going with a back to basics sort of design... old tins hold cutlery, simple tables & chairs but still you just love it! All in, less than 150zl which in my world comes in about £10 a head. So, if your looking for that fine dining experience then work on by however for good food, good prices in a great atmosphere park your buns here & enjoy a great evening. We arrived at 1900 hours & found it starting to get busy so for anything much later i advise you reserve a table...... We love it & i would highly recommend to...
Read moreWhat a terrible establishment. Absolutely no duty of care to patrons. We witnessed the bar staff and security guard evicting a very drug-affected, confused girl from the venue. Instead of helping her, they simply guided her up from her table and made her stagger down the street until she was no longer at their venue. We found her sagging against a wall, barely conscious. My husband and I took on the responsibility of getting her back to her hotel safely. She told us some other patrons at Alchemia had given her drugs and then left her. We alerted the bar staff thinking that they would help her and were then flabbergasted to see them lead her away from the bar and into the street on her own. Wow. I never would have expected to see this from staff. Everybody we encountered this afternoon should be ashamed of themselves. They allowed two tourists to take on the burden of looking after one of their patrons when they needed help. I am embarrassed for this...
