Avoid Tajska in Kraków – A Disgrace to Thai Cuisine and Customer Service
If you’re craving authentic Thai food in Kraków, do not waste your time or money at Tajska. This restaurant is an absolute disgrace to Thai cuisine. What was served barely resembled Thai food in any meaningful way—bland, uninspired, and completely lacking the balance of flavor, spice, and freshness that makes Thai food so beloved. It felt like a lazy, Westernised imitation at best.
But the real nightmare was the abysmal service. We waited close to two hours for our main courses with zero communication or apology. In the meantime, we had to ask three separate times just to get a glass of water. That level of neglect is unacceptable in any restaurant. To make matters worse, they removed plates from the table while others were still eating, a basic hospitality faux pas, and got several of our orders wrong.
To add insult to injury, we were there to celebrate a special birthday, and partway through the evening, we were asked to remain quiet, as if we were being a nuisance for enjoying ourselves. It completely killed the mood and ruined what was meant to be a joyful, celebratory night. If a restaurant can’t accommodate a small group celebrating a birthday without treating them like an inconvenience, they have no business being in hospitality.
As if the evening wasn’t already a disaster, the end brought a whole new level of incompetence. When we asked to split the bill—a routine request in most places—the staff looked completely lost. Four staff members stood around for an embarrassingly long time trying (and failing) to do basic math, creating a completely unnecessary and awkward scene. Eventually, the manager was called in, and instead of handling the situation with professionalism, he was dismissive, rude, and visibly irritated, showing zero regard for customer service.
Tajska in Kraków failed on every level—terrible food, chaotic service, and shockingly unprofessional management. A special evening was completely spoiled by an establishment that clearly doesn’t care about its customers.

Read moreAfter i read several reviews I decided to give this place a try. I lived in Thailand for a few years and being a thai food enthusiast I try to taste Thai cuisine whenever and wherever I can. I saw a lot of people claiming this is the best thai food in Europe which is not true at all. They are either trying to show off or have no idea how thai food tastes. I will start with the restaurant first. 1.The place is located in the Jewish district which is a pretty nice area. The place itself was nice but it didn't feel Thai at all. It was very european style. 2 stars for the atmosphere. The service was good. Both waiters and waitresses were nice, friendly and helpful. 4 stars for the service. We were two people and ordered : Panang(which was with beef), Yellow Curry, Tom Yum Kung and Cha Yen( thai ice tea with milk). The price was around 180zl which is not expensive especially compared to other thai restaurtants in EU. The portions were big. 4 stars for the price and quantity. Now lets see the food. The Cha Yen - 2 stars. That is one of the simplest things to do. It was not near my expectations and I have had much better one in other EU Thai restaurants. The Panang - 1 stars. It was probably the worst Panang i have ever eaten. It was not spicy at all, it was made with beef and it was a bit too salty. Tom Yum - 1.5 stars. Nothing what i was excpecting. Not spicy at all, u had to dive in the bowl to find those two mini shrimps that were inside and the taste was mediocre. One of the worst i have ever eaten. Yellow Curry - 4 stars. I left this for the end because i was really susprised how good it was. One of the best i have eaten in EU. The place is...
Read moreIt is a shame what has happened to Taj. The level of service in all locations (including the original site in Kazimierz) has dropped considerably since the restaurant expanded into a chain.
The food is great, and there is no issue there. But I have noticed the quality dropped and the prices still increasing. But this is not my main concern here.
The biggest issue is with service. The past two times I have been (main square and kazimierz location) the service has been so shockingly bad that I will not return to any Taj restaurant.
if you don’t have the kitchen or wait staff to support walk ins, don’t allow them. Staff are clearly overwhelmed. Filling a big restaurant makes no sense if the staff aren’t available to keep the level of service required.
staff training seems non existent.. four tables around me all talking about just how bad the experience has been for them. Staff mixing up orders. Unable to even identify the dishes they are holding and trying to service. The waiter was serving dessert to the table next to us, whilst they were still waiting for their main.
when we were exiting, we watched a different waiter asking a table of four diners to move to another table due to a reservation. These diners had a table full of drinks and meals. Unbelievable
Absolutely abysmal level of service.
This is at least from my point of view, clearly a lack in training.
You are ruining a great brand with amazing food, good atmosphere, and what was amazing...
