I made a reservation before arrival. Upon arrival we were placed in the most dark/shady room in the place. This was uncomfortable as we couldn’t even read the menu with no proper light despite the place being completely empty. We asked to be replaced and chose a seat next to the window with more light. Then, the waiter came and told us that since we made a reservation we will be charge 50 zl for that, and in addition we will get welcome drinks that will cost around 30 zl. First- no where does it say that reservation costs extra money! as well, we found it odd that we receive drinks that count as a welcoming offer and have to pay for them- we did not ask for them at all. We asked the waitress couple of times to explain why is that so, he mumbled and walked away to talk to his boss each time until finally coming back saying we won’t pay for the reservation and those drinks. We already had a bad feeling of scam but decided to give it a shot anyway. When finally we were not the only ones in the room, another couple there was also being told about the extra charge. Suddenly, two waiters came to us and told us we must move to another room where there is a window seat, they said that the table is unstable. Hmm, it felt the same in the “other room”. That “other room” is the place where the bar is and as well the owner of the place. We felt super weird about that, as if they didn’t want us to create a scene in front of the other couple or that we leave without paying. We picked two drinks each, drank them fast and made sure to only pay for those and not for any extra costs. As a Hebrew speaker- “sababa” means great, cool, awesome. This place was non of the above. nonetheless they had no orientation for the Jewish quarter or the name of the place which may...
Read moreThis was the worst cocktatil bar experience i have ever encourtered in Kraków, why on gods earth espresso martini is being served in a coffe mug with coffe beans floating inside/ at the bottom of the glass ? So that i will choke while drinking that obscuriity i suppose. Also, since when does an aviation taste like a salty/soury water ? What did happen nobody will ever know, nobody asked us anythin, nobody asked if we wrre alright, or if anythin was wrong even that the staff came across us several times. If i want a contemporary classic, that's what i want, not some your own idea behind it. Serving water by giving a leftover bottle from patron tequila is just funneh. As per interior, its alright, dark, hidden, dangerous. Music is imho tottaly wrong of what the place should represent. But that's just my taste. Just so y'kno, it was 2nd mine visit and 3rd and last visit of my other friend. We have never tried to give a cocktatil bar so many chances, it is what it...
Read moreHonestly, nothing special about the cocktails. Not even that, from the 3 we tried, each flavour was overwhelmed by one of the ingredients rather than forming something coherent. It seemed the menu attempts edgy flavour combinations, but they did not come forward at all.
Atmosphere was okay, music not too loud so we could have a conversation. The menu design was really fun, but it is just your standard cocktail place.
A surprise 23% service fee in Europe will never sit well with me. First of all, that's a huge percentage to bring some glasses. There was no other effort put into service.
Secondly, we didn't check the bill (mea culpa) and added our own tip. The waiter took it without pointing out that there's already something included.
To me, that's greedy and dishonest. I understand, the point is to earn money and it would be ok if they were upfront about it. So as a customer, I will steer others away and recommend finding a place with better cocktails and...
