I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ptaszyl restaurant in the heart of Krakow's Jewish neighborhood, and I must say that the experience was truly outstanding. From the moment I entered the cozy and inviting restaurant, I was struck by the warm and friendly atmosphere that permeated the space. The decor was simple yet elegant, with subtle nods to the restaurant's Jewish heritage in the form of traditional paintings and artifacts adorning the walls.
But what really made the experience stand out was the exceptional service provided by our waiter, Natalia. From the very beginning, she greeted us with a bright smile and a genuine warmth that immediately put us at ease. Throughout the course of the meal, she was attentive, knowledgeable, and went out of her way to ensure that we had a truly memorable dining experience.
As for the food itself, it was simply delicious. The menu offered a range of traditional Jewish dishes, as well as some more modern takes on classic cuisine. Everything we tried was cooked to perfection, with fresh ingredients and an attention to detail that really set it apart from other restaurants in the area.
But perhaps the best part of the meal was the exceptional service provided by Natalia. She was knowledgeable about the menu, attentive to our needs, and went above and beyond to ensure that we were well taken care of throughout our meal. She truly deserves a pay raise for her outstanding work, as we all felt completely in love with her.
Overall, I would highly recommend Ptaszyl restaurant to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience in Krakow's Jewish neighborhood. With its warm and welcoming atmosphere, delicious food, and outstanding service, it's truly a gem in the heart of the city. And if you're lucky enough to have Natalia as your waiter, you're in for a truly...
Read moreLast night I learned it is possible to have a bad meal in Krakow. I work regularly in town and have been blown away by the quality of food choices at both the high and low end of the dining scene. Last night we were drawn in by the live music (lovely) and packed patio warmed by heat lamps. Unfortunately we spent nearly $300 bucks on two bowls of soup, the worst hummus I've had in my life (served in ice cream scoop balls like a cheap deli and seasoned with way too much cumin, a tabbouleh salad also with too much cumin and "stuffed cabbage) which was actually just some sausages wrapped in a thin cabbage leaf and some cheap house wine. The bottle of sparkling water we ordered came out hot and when we asked for a cold one the waiter suggested we made it hot by putting it too close to the heat lamps (no where near our table), then "solved" the problem by freezing it for a few minutes and returning it to our table warm. The food took forever to come out, but was neither fresh nor hot. Would not eat here again, don't make the...
Read moreWe stopped on a whim, partially as a result of the kind young man ready to explain the menu to us, and the delectable classical violinist serenading the diners. Our server was a lovely, professional and efficient young woman and we appreciated her humour and customer service. The food was delicious !! The pricing was reasonable, and the patio atmosphere comfortable, warm and inviting . A very heavy storm suddenly hit and eventually the Big Guy hurried everybody indoors where it was more safe. Packed with customers, the entire restaurant team managed to close down the patio safely while also ensuring the customers were well fed, and not thirsty. Kudos to the team effort ~ I hope everybody enjoys working together as it seems … a fabulous experience and if we had more time in Krakow we would certainly return ! Thank you, from your friends...
