We came here for an Indian based on the reviews on google. Im so confused by everyone’s reviews on this restaurant. First of all, the place is in need of a little make over, secondly the waiter dropped two pints over our friend straight into his lap, he was soaked, I know this is a totally accident but the place was empty, he could of used another table to put the drinks down before delivering them to us. Once this happened there wasn’t a waiter in sight for a good 10 minutes, they all just disappeared. We just moved tables by ourselves because everything was soaked. When taking our order the only thing I can describe it was like a scene out of faulty towers, and we knew it was going to be a disaster. We had poppadoms and chutneys for starters and they were disgusting coriander poppadoms, So if your not a fan of coriander don’t have the poppadoms. Our main came out and the waiter giving us our food didn’t know what he had in his hands he was just dumping it on our table, when I asked him what naan bread this was, he told me I don’t know, I didn’t take your order! One of the curry sauces was wrong, and the curry in general was poor. My friend had Chicken tikka Masala and she described it as taste less, she said how can you get an easy Indian dish so wrong. Every table around us was complaining, one couple had their mains before the starters and had 50% off their bill. After all that, when we asked for our bill, they were willing to charge us full price for the absolute shambles of a service, it was only when we complained they decided it was a good idea to give us a discount. It was just unorganised chaos. I definitely wouldn’t go back if I visited...
Read moreThis is an authentic Indian restaurant just outside the Krakow Old Town. The interior is decorated beautifully but it is still slightly rough around the edges. Don't let this dissuade you from coming as the food and service was top notch. There are a number of vegan options across the menu, so plenty of choice! We had the Papadums to start which were fragrant and delicious along with the pickles tray which has the combination of different vingeary, spicy chutneys. Then we had the Veg Pakora which had a lovely batter with some crunchy and delicious veg inside including peppers, potato and aubergine. For my main I had the veg Jalfrezi which was served spicy. This was fantastically fragrant with a lovely level of spice for those that are accustomed to it. The sauce was rich and bursting with flavour, definitely would advise this dish. We also had the Aubergine baked in the oven, which also had been served spicy. This was a close competitor to the jalfrezi and similarly had a very rich flavour with a more thick consistency. As a side we had the garlic naan which covered in garlic and oil, my favourite combination. It was lovely and was a great addition to try and mop up our leftovers! The service was great and our waiters did everything to help us out when we needed them. I would definitely advise vegans or meat-eaters to visit this restaurant as everyone left filling full...
Read moreVeggie cutlets are nice (not exactly like you get in India, but close enough). My husband liked it.
Samosas are pretty small, half the size of usual ones in Warsaw, for example. But again the price is 8 pln! So..... Filling was nice, though outer covering was not fully cooked (typically when I bake my samosas, it comes out a little rubbery like this).
They managed to make my alu gobi without imbir. Thank you for that. I just felt it was way too oily, for my taste. Otherwise, taste was fine (we asked for it to be hot, but it was way too hot for me, so I had it with yogurt :-)
Lamb portion was pretty small. We asked it to be hot, but compared to alu gobi, it was 20% as hot! Probably they assumed my European husband can not handle "indian" spicy food... but let me tell you that he tolerates 50% more chilli hotness than me as an Indian !!!
Naan was very thin and small (I am comparing with other Indian redtaurants). Maybe you could make it thicker?
I will definitely give another chance to the restaurant. Might change the review...
