I'm probably not a very good Poznanian, but I've never particularly liked perogies. Wherever I've tried them before, I've almost always sadly admitted that it's probably just not my thing. But recently, for some reason, I really wanted to give this dish another chance, and I decided that this miso place, which we had passed so many times but never visited, would be a good choice, and my intuition was right. It wasn't much more than an hour before closing time (which made me feel bad), but everyone was nice and the perogies didn't seem like they were made in the morning and were super fresh. Not knowing what to choose we got a mix of different flavors of baked and boiled along with a couple sauces. That's when I first learned that perogies can be so delicious. Surprisingly enough, despite the many flavors, each one was very tasty, and it was topped off with a couple of equally tasty sauces (we had garlic and mushroom) and the actual compote. It tasted like a greeting from childhood.
I don't know, maybe we were in the right place at the right time, or maybe we found the nicest bistro in town. Definitely need to go back and...
Read moreWe went there with a tiny group of 4 people. Why so harsh opinion? Waitress couldn't remember our order, despite that she wrote it on paper. In the end we received partly what we ordered and partly not (2 out of 4 orders were wrong =50%). Waiting time was so loooooooong and when we were waiting someone else (from the staff or hired company) was trying to repair a radio, which was a very tragic event for our ears. Finally and most important: the food was tasteless, poor quality and almost uneatable. Dumplings made in Spanish way - were OK Dumplings made with spinach - dreadful! Rest of types - maybe average.
In the end we left this place feeling that it was our last visit there and we went looking for something else to eat to kill the taste of dumplings made here. Enter here only for your own risk & only if do not know how dumplings...
Read moreMy last meal before leaving Poland at the end of a short break, and I chose that right place.
I really wanted to finish off with something traditional.
We shared assorted pierogi, a selection of eight, boiled. They were the best I've had with distinct flavours and a great Gorgonzola sauce.
I had a pork knuckle which came with saurkraut, boiled potatoes, and veg and sauce from the roast. I'm so glad that I finished on that.
It's on a shopping high street so I was expecting a lot less. I really just wanted to sit somewhere and kill time before my flight.
A fine restaurant, brilliant food, pivo, and an...
