The Parish Church of St. Stanislaus, or «Fara Church», is an impressive Baroque church in the old town of Poznań. The church was built between 1651 and 1701. Squeezed between the narrow streets, you have to look for the right place to admire the immense building. But do go inside. It is a church that radiates enormous harmony, even though the church is the work of many Polish and Italian craftsmen. During WWII the church was badly damaged, but fortunately it was completely restored in peacetime and now shines perhaps like never before. The interior is dominated by a lot of red and gold and a firework of decorations. But it all radiates a very well-orchestrated order and symmetry. According to my guide, these organ concerts take place in July and August from Monday to Saturday at 12:15 and on Thursdays at 20:00. The rest of the year, these concerts are only on Saturdays at 12:15. We stayed at a hotel near this impressive church and we often walked in to enjoy this beautiful...
Read moreI visited the Basilica of Our Lady in Poznań and it was a beautiful experience. The church is stunning both outside and inside. From the moment I walked in, I felt a deep sense of peace and calm. The architecture is amazing — full of detailed decorations, beautiful paintings, and a breathtaking ceiling.
The atmosphere inside is very quiet and respectful. It’s a perfect place to sit down, reflect, or say a short prayer. Even if you are not religious, it’s worth visiting just to see the beauty of this historic place.
I really liked the lighting inside — it gives the church a warm and peaceful feeling. The organ music playing softly in the background made the visit even more special.
It’s also not far from the Old Market Square, so it’s easy to find. The entrance is free, but you can leave a donation if you want to support the church.
I highly recommend visiting this basilica when you are in Poznań. It’s one of the most beautiful churches I’ve ever seen, and I would love to...
