Apartments are very spacious, clean with some imperfections bot not big ones. It would be nice to have a shampoo and hair conditioner in the bathroom, it is a standard nowadays. No wine bottle opener or wine glasses in the apartment. Two bottles of water as a freebie. Free tea and coffee (no milk). Nice receptionist, prompt replies by email. My concern is a restaurant- very pricey for what it delivers. The menu and prices when you look it on the website look ok when on a website- you turn up there to find out that the menu on a website and prices are out of date. Wine card and prices- add 30% to what you see on a web when you see the card while turning up. And you cannot order by glass or caraffe from the wine menu, you have to order a bottle (again-prices from the blooming moon). I went there with kids as we were hungry and I was encouraged by reviews. My son ordered a burger with potato wedges (they were dark brown when arrived-overcooked for sure), I order kartacz with something inside that tasted like meat although it was supposed to be a "smoked white cheese". Sprinkled with a caramelised onion from the commercially buy jar in the shop. I enclose the pictures. Starters "tu i Owdzie some meat" was more like "owdzie" meat rather than "tu". 3 tiny slices with some chutney and few leaves of baby salad plus "podlpomyki" which were fresh. Cheap starter for a restaurant but not for guest (30PLN). The same starter without meat costs 25PLN. The flat bread with white sausage tasted ok with my son (again- he was really hungry) but needs a bit of presentation. It looked a bit like cat food put on a pizza bread. And one more thing really vital- update the menu on your website and the prices , wine especially. Putting on the card "a glass of wine" made me think I would get a glass of wine, not 1/3 of the glass of polish wine for 27PLN! I read your previous menu from October 2022 and "small glass of wine" was 0.125ml and priced 19PLN. You still have it on your web! I feel a bit ripped off and disappointed. My glass of wine charged 27PLN was at best 70ml full but charged full price. I am a wine conesseur so it immediately caught my attention. I know as it caught my eye when the bartender filled the glass properly from the measuring flask for a guest at the nest table. The difference was obvious. All in all: I spent 378PLN for a mediocre dinner with one glass of polish wine charged double, 3 starters, 3 mains and a flask of lemonade. A bit too much, these are London prices. You have a great potential to be a good+ or very good restaurant IF you have a love for detail. I believe it might be in hands of...
Read moreThe place would be good or very good under the conditions: 1. There is no possibility to drive in on wheelchair what makes this place unaivalble for persons mobile disabled, and for women with prams 2. The service time for sth like burgers (but with pullled, not fried meat) exceeded over one hour (I think it was sth like 70 minutes)... 3. The lego- ice creams, ...hmmmm... do I have to post the photos of my disappointed 7 years-old son?.... there was a little, tinyyyy, homogenous, chocolate mannn.. fully not worth the price and the children's expectations..... Couldn't you simply imitate f.e. some bricks, or sth more interesting?...OK. Let's summarize... This place is good. And has many things to be very good or excellent. But, because of the location, position and customers at which it aims, it should be considered in terms of higher expectations.... I'll come back there one more time in future. And if the things will be improved, there will be 5 note. If not, then 1. But, overall I wish you good luck. And I have to add, the waitresses are wery nice...
Read moreAn enchanting boutique hotel and restaurant in a beautifully renovated granary, executed in a way that playfully brings out the building's history with wooden beams, alcoves and interesting spaces. The apartment we stayed in (nr. 6) was large, well lit and very comfortable. You can see all the apartments on Monka's excellent website. The staff were helpful, attentive and always smiling, making us feel so welcome. The restaurant is cozy and inviting, with a great atmosphere and a delicious menu that caters to vegetarians, vegans and meat eaters too. Monka has a wonderful wine cellar with excellent Polish as well as international wines. We will definitely be coming back as Toruń is a charming and lively city to explore (even in January) and Monka is centrally located. If you are visiting by car it is important to call ahead and reserve one of the limited parking spaces that Monka has available to...
