Żywe Muzeum Piernika w Toruniu to prawdziwa perełka wśród atrakcji turystycznych miasta. To interaktywne muzeum oferuje niesamowite doświadczenie, które przenosi odwiedzających w czasie do średniowiecznego Torunia, gdzie pierniki odgrywały kluczową rolę w lokalnej kulturze i gospodarce. The Living Museum of Gingerbread in Toruń is a true gem among the city's tourist attractions. This interactive museum offers an incredible experience that transports visitors back in time to medieval Toruń, where gingerbread played a key role in local culture and economy. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and invited to the first floor, where we were told about the history of gingerbread production in a very interesting way, using the local dialect. The guides, dressed in period costumes, enthusiastically introduced us not only to the secrets of gingerbread making but also to fascinating facts about Toruń itself. One of the most fascinating parts of the visit was the opportunity to smell and taste all the ingredients used in gingerbread production. Then, under the watchful eyes of the guides, we made the dough ourselves and prepared gingerbread for baking using special molds. The whole process was not only educational but also incredibly fun. On the next floor, we learned about the history of gingerbread during the Russian partitions and how Toruń competed with German cities in the production of this delicacy. Each story was rich in details and presented in a way that captivated both children and adults. We enjoyed it very much. It was an amazing experience that we rate 5 out of 5. We will definitely return because this place has an incredible magic and atmosphere. We highly recommend the Living Museum of Gingerbread to anyone visiting Toruń. It's the perfect place to spend time with family, surrounded by history and wonderful flavors.

A fun experience to keep us out of the rain! We joined the English version of the tour, it's a little awkward being only once per day at 2pm especially as the show is not entirely in English, rather in Polish and after an English translation. The male and female duo who led the tour were entertaining and quite good with translating, however afterwards when we went upstairs to see the decorating part there was definitely a ratio of about 1 part English to 4 parts Polish! We also expected to be able to decorate our gingerbreads that we made (in hindsight this is not possible because they are still warm) but if you wish to have a go at decorating then you can pay an extra PLN 5 and are given a pre-made heart to decorate, or have a dedication made to you by the expert. Overall value for money is quite good, the show lasts a little over an hour for PLN 24 so it's a worth a visit if this is your kind of thing!

Very interesting, hands on experience far from stiffened lecturing. Maybe sometimes too direct but without breaking the boundaries of good taste. The interior decor and equipment carefully chosen. The form is close to a theatrical play. In two floors, one medieval manufacture and second 19 th century manufacturing. Course of gingerbread decoration, and overall immersion in the historical periods are a plus. Unfortunately it is quite “crowdy” and everyone should wear mask inside as closeness is inevitable. Great for children and parents. Sessions are bought out early before each day so make sure you buy it in advance as on the spot you may be too late. After the session you will get your self-made figurative gingerbread to place on your Christmas tree.

This was the highlight of my experience in Torun, I felt like a child again! They organize this in Polish and English every day at 14:00 for the price of 19zl at the time of my visit. The show lasts about an hour and a half and you get to bake your own ginger bread that you can take home with you. It's exceptional how they managed to make this a great experience for both adults and kids. If you're a foreigner it's good to go first to the other exhibition about the topic located a few hundred meters away and then come back here. There's more to gingerbread than I ever thought!

Fun and interactive, but our English language tour was dominated by a Polish school group, and doing it bilingual was not great. The English language level should be increased, vocab and knowledge was good but pronunciation and pace need improving, I understood about half of what they said. You get to make a gingerbread yourself, but its 55minutes listening , and 5minutes making. If the hands of bit was longer then the rating would be higher. Nice concept but keep working on the delivery.

More of a workshop/experience than a museum. I think it should be marketed as such. They are going for an ancient feel, but are using an electrical oven which was quite a disappointment. It should be noted that decorating your gingerbread IS NOT INCLUDED into the entrance price and it costs an extra 5PLN. Also the whole workshop was kinda rushed to make room for the next group. To sum it all up, a great concept, not a good execution. It has a lot of potential though.
