What an awful experience! We wanted to have something traditionally polish for dinner, so thought this place that offers all kinds of pierogi will be great. We ordered drinks and 3 portions of pierogi. I asked what is the waiting time and the waitress said 45-50 minutes, which we thought is acceptable for saturday evening. After an hour I asked how much longer, same waitress said 10 minutes. After 20 minutes I asked her again, she said 5 minutes. After 15 more minutes I asked for the bill. The final straw was when the table next to us that came 20 minutes later got their food just as we were leaving... What's crazy is that just a couple of tables had food, the rest was waiting. A quick look at the people at other tables and one could tell we were all experiencing the same emotions - confusion, bewilderment, anger, just looking around and not understanding... I get that things can go wrong, but lying to your customers is never a good policy. I had to keep asking the waitress how much longer, not once did she inform me proactively, nor did she ask if she can at least get us some more drinks in the entire 100 minutes we patiently waited. If this is their usual MO then I don't understand how they can be profitable. It's a real shame, since the place looks nice, location is great. But 1 star from me, just because I can't give 0... Hands down the worst restaurant experience I've...
Read moreSalads were genuinely terrible, almost as bad as the service.. Two of the three inedible, one smelled of petroleum, tasted expired. The red cabbage barely passable, far below restraunt quality. Baked pierogies were decent, just mediocre, Platski with bigos (potato pancake with stew) was a highlight - truly delicious, the one good dish of five ordered (not including sides, Pickles were good too). Took over 1.5 hours for food to come, we were initially told 30-40 minutes and no one bothered to check in or update us in this time. Not offered another round of drinks despite the long wait (not expecting anything complimentary, just an offer for refills given the long long wait). The kitchen also messed up an order of 5 baked pierogies and only served 3 - frustrating after waiting so long. They did get the other two to us within a reasonable period. Unapologetic when asked about the wait or extremely poor quality salads. We almost gave up on food and walked out - but it was just as our food finally arrived so we stayed. Others did walk out. Apparently there were issues with the oven. Our server seemed to speak to a manager but was shooed away. Seems management doesn't care much about customers or the dining experience, felt bad for the server. They removed the untouched salads from our bill, and after we called out the extremely long wait and issues, they threw in a small...
Read moreWe had a wonderful dinner thanks to Maria! She guided us through the menu, answered all our questions, made sure that our drinks arrived cold and our food with good timing - eventhough the restaurant was very busy. Maria and her colleagues even took the time to bring water to our dog and tried not to wake him sleeping in the middle of their walkway (sorry again!) So Maria is awesome but so is the food. We had two mixed plates of pierogi and sampled nearly every kind and they were all delicious in their own way. My personal favourite is the baked with smoked cheese and potatoes! The restaurant is located right by the towns square and after sun set everything looks really picturesque with string lights and the old buildings.
Only complaint: no room for dessert left after what felt like 5 kg of pierogi!
So thank you Maria, thanks everyone that was delicious!
P.S.: the have merch! Pierogi shaped like dinosaurs, pins, shirts etc. Pp. Will make lovely souvenirs if you can't bring...
