We had lunch here on a Tuesday in April and were overall satisfied with the experience. We sat outside at one of the tables on the street side and it took a while for the waitress to notice us but eventually she brought the menu and we ordered soon after. I had a beer and the kopytka ziemniaczane podsmażane z gulaszem wieprzowym papryką i pieczarkami (potato fried dumplings with pork stew, peppers and mushrooms; pictured) and my girlfriend went for the placki ziemniaczane prosto z patelni z sosem gulaszowym z szynki wieprzowej papryką i pieczarkami (potato pancakes with pork goulash sauce with peppers and champignons) and a strawberry lemonade. The dishes were both very tasty and a good portion, without being overwhelmingly large. I particularly enjoyed the potato fried dumplings, which reminded me of gnocchi. They also have a wide selection of pierogi, including savory and sweet fillings and different sauces but we opted for two different mains given we had had our fair share of pierogi already. The prices are not super cheap but the quality of the food lives up to the expectations from the high ratings and also the strawberry lemonade was very good, with the fruit and freshness coming through nicely. The menu also has pictures to show many of the dishes and an English translation of all items, which definitely helps in the selection process. If I had to criticize something, the service was not extremely friendly but more on the functional and...
Read moreThere's definitely positive and negative parts of this place. The service is excellent and friendly, the place is decorated nicely and the vibe is good. It feels a bit tight sitting there but I'm guessing the location is what it it. Place had definitely 90% tourists and almost no locals dining. The food is good but not great, not a 5 star restaurant in my book. You can get more authentic food for a better price elsewhere. When you order Zurek in the bread bowl there's barely any soup in there, the portions of the other dishes were OK and I feel when you order any dishes with meat in them the meat ratio to the whole dish could be a bit improved . Good swlection of different kinds of pierogi both meat and vegetarian options. You definitely pay more here because of the location but overall I believe you will get a very close to true taste of polish food to satisfy your cravings and that coming from people back in the country first time after 20 years. For a family of 5 on a pretty busy day the service was...
Read moreEverything about this experience was disappointing 🥲 If you're reading this, know that my review is honest. It's hard to believe a place with a 4.7 rating could be so underwhelming.
Food & Service: We had to repeatedly ask the waiter to take our order, which was surprising considering (service is included in the bill). Our food took a long time to arrive, and when it did, the grill items were overcooked. My salad (shown in the photo) looked okay, but the taste was lacking: the sauce was bland, the tomatoes weren't cleaned properly, and the meat was dry. My friends had similar issues with their dishes. We also had to wait a long time to get the bill. Unfortunately, this is not a place I...
