We used to go here every year when we visit Warsaw as we loved the food. Unfortunately this year nothing like it. Starters and food took all together 2 hrs and portions are much smaller and doesn't taste like it used to. Such a shame but won't go here anymore. Plus watch out for staff putting high tips on the receipts without telling us. But luckily we noticed they charged us for it otherwise we would have given them another tip!!!!!! This happened first time as well. We think they only do that to the foreigner as they don't understand what's on the polish receipts (previous years I spoke to them in polish while ordering, that clearly made the difference)! I think the standards have dropped since they've open few other Zapiecek places round the Old Town making it to a chain I think but unfortunately it's not working out very well. Me and my other half were very disappointed as we've brought a big group of family with us well recommending this place, such a shame it all changed and not the...
Read moreI had a great time at this place! It’s tucked away in the old town, so it has that old-style charm that makes things feel cozy and warm. Even their small terrace is beautiful — intimate, perfect for a quiet meal outside when the weather’s nice.
The staff were top notch — professional, friendly, warm, and super quick. You never felt ignored, which I appreciated a lot. Service was smooth, even when it got a bit busy.
The food was the real highlight: delicious and very much traditional Polish kitchen. Everything we tried had authenticity, good flavors, and was clearly made with care. It’s the kind of place that feels genuine, not over-done, just honest, good food.
Overall, this is one of those restaurants you go to if you want classic, tasty Polish dishes in a cozy, warm atmosphere. Old-town vibe, nice terrace, friendly professional staff, and great food. Would...
Read moreMy friend who lives in Warsaw recommended Zapiecek as one of the places to try for a good original Polish meal. As I was visiting the Old City Centre and dinner time approached, I decided to walk to their restaurant right behind the old square. Both the zurek and the pierogie z miasem, typical Polish dishes, were good as expected. The positive experience convinced me to come back the following evening, when I tried the baked kaczka (duck), another main dish of the Polish cuisine. That was as good as, if not slightly better, than the ones I've tried in similar restaurants. A special mention goes to miss Martyna, the member of the staff who served me in both occasions. She is fast, professional, polite and fun to chat with. Definitely a nice restaurant with good food and...
