Hummmm, we waited a few minutes for a table on a Thursday evening... Not real busy, but they seem as it is.
The atmosphere is really very nice, which we really appreciated (except for sitting by the kitchen).
Took longer (10-15 minutes) to be acknowledged by our server. So far not impressed with the service.
Server served the food, hasn't been by to check on the food, missing in action ... OMG, he is not even acknowledging us. Cleaning tables... Hello, we would have ordered another drink....
Had to wave him over to get our check.
I see another person working quite quickly... Maybe our server had a late night... 😂
The last photo is homemade sauerkraut and pickles (on the house appetizer) .... I have to say this was the best!!!
We loved the food, we ordered a tomato salad and a mixed meat board. We began to discuss that the server may have served us for two people when we ordered a single order (we don't eat a massive dinner), will let you know....NOPE, only charged for a single order.
I just wished our server was a bit more attentative.
Would I revisit.... Probably!
01/10/2020 - Returned, but for a light dinner.... Sauerkraut soup and Hungarian soup with a bread basket. Super food and great service, this young lady was fast, efficient and had a happy attitude. Just didn't like sitting by kitchen and the toilet area.
02/10/2020 - Checked out a couple of places, tired from walking all day, so we came back (3rd time), as it us close to our apartment. OMG, sitted again by the toilet and kitchen. We ordered the ribs (OK, not really hot and white sausage, which were great). Our server wasn't attentative at all (oh until we were ready to leave).
Three times in a week.....
06/10/2020 - last night in Warsaw. We were seated in a very nice area. Our server, she was the one we saw on our first visit (super fast....NOPE...it took get 20 minutes to come by our table AFTER we completed our meal). We ordered the daily special, schnitzel huge), cucumbers with sour cream (good), potato salad (fantastic), and chicken soup (OK). Yes, I have determined that the service here is mediocre. Food is pretty good, but the service...
Read moreWorst welcoming ever. I'm a hospitality veteran, worked close to 25 years in hospitality industry (Hotels & Restaurants), traveled and enjoyed close to 60 countries, more than 200 cities. I never had a reservation experience like this. Since 2 days I was calling them to make a reservation, nobody picked up my calls. Today I decided to take a walk and while passing by, would like to make the reservation personally by myself.
It was 11:20am, I entered to the patio of the restaurant, lovely venue, I thought to myself that it's a great decision to choose this place. Nobody was around, walked into the restaurant and saw a lady sitting behind a wooden framed window, texting with her mobile. I greeted her, but no answer, one more time, no answer. Asked whether she can speak English or not, she replied with only one word, YES !
Then she took a tablet from the table, which I guess she is checking/recording reservations there. I asked whether I can make a reservation for those outdoor tables or not, she replied NO ! Ok then I said, can I make a reservation for an indoor table, and when we arrive we can ask for an outdoor table. If available, we can move, if not then we can continue to sit indoor and enjoy our evening.
She literally threw the tablet from her hand to the table, and said, it's not possible, reservations are made for sitting and enjoying tables they are providing to the guests, not for changing them. I said thank you and left the venue. May be it's a great restaurant with yummy Polish food items, but with this kind of manner and attitudes to a guest .. Sorry, I'll not attempt for even another reservation.
100 yards away I found a beautiful restaurant, a lovely smiley lady welcomed with nice welcoming words, I made a reservation, without asking she told me that they can move us to their outdoor garden tables, if any of them will be available, because the weather is beautiful today in Warsaw. I thanked to her and got back to my job. For sure I'll write a review for them after I'll experience their restaurant...
Read moreI wanted to eat pierogi and tartar. It's a tourist area, so a lot of people come here. You may have to wait a while. Reservations are recommended.
The beef tartare was one of the best I have ever had. I recommend eating it with the bread (fried bread like rusk) that comes with it! The complimentary pickles and sauerkraut are also delicious.
I ordered the pierogi with meat, which was disappointing. It was my first time eating fried pierogis, so I had high expectations, but the meat inside was dry, like corned beef. It might have tasted better with a different filling.
After the meal, a cherry liqueur was offered as a service, but I did not drink it because I could not drink alcohol that day.
It seemed a bit silly to offer alcohol, even as a service, without checking, even though I was drinking a non-alcoholic beer. What would have happened if I had an allergy to alcohol, was underage, or was a driver?
Maybe it was because I am Asian, a single customer, or a woman (or all of them), overall the service was minimal.
The waitresses would not say anything to me unless I asked them myself after I was seated. If I had a request, they would not do it once, I had to say it twice.
I could not eat the whole meal by myself, so I asked if I could have a to-go box. The waiter said yes, but then walked past me two or three times without doing anything, and I was shocked when she finally took the box that was in my sight and gave it to me. I was displeased that after giving me the box, she stood by me for a long time until I filled it without any explanation. I thought it would have been better if he had given me the box first.
Not all the staff can take orders, but I had the feeling that the serving staff who are not part of it try to be relatively hospitable.
For their sake, I thought I should bring some cash the next time I
(I am also surprised that there are so...
