Restauracja Zapiecek is the best choice if you would like to try traditional, polish cuisine. There are six existing restaurants in the Old Town area. All are situated one quite close to another, so if you cannot get a place in a first one then you can always walk to another and try your luck over there. Mind you, Zapiecek is so popular that it is really difficult to get a place from a lunch time onward. I had to queue there every single time. During my visit to Warsaw I was dining in four different restaurants in the chain. I tried many different dishes and I must say I like them all. Pierogi (dumplings - a must try dish in Poland) - we could order minimum nine pieces but a good news is that we can mix and match from many different flavours. They are nice but I have to be honest, I had better dumplings before. Mulled wine is served in a small, thimble like shape cup, that is placed above a tealight to keep it "hot". It looks cute but again, I had better that I bought on a street. I like my mullet wine hot but in this case it never was. I am guessing that if it was too hot no one would be able to lift a handless cup. But hey! Great news is that there are plenty other delicious drinks - hot and cold, with or without alcohol that can keep you happy and your spirits uplifted. All restaurants are very cosy, beautifully decorated in a old cottage style. Waiter service is dressed in a traditional polish costume (I think). Girls are very smiley and helpful. Restaurant look very clean including toilets. You can't go wrong choosing...

Stepping into this place felt immediately warm and inviting—the perfect atmosphere for the incredible, authentic meal that followed. This review is an absolute recommendation for anyone craving genuine comfort food. For the main course, I went with the classic sausage served over slow-cooked cabbage and onions, and it was exceptional. The sausages were perfectly grilled, achieving a beautiful, crisp skin while remaining wonderfully juicy and flavorful inside. They sat on a generous bed of savory, sweet, and slightly tangy shredded cabbage and onions that had been cooked down to perfection, creating a deeply satisfying, hearty base. Paired with a nice pint of local beer, it was the definition of a satisfying, well-executed traditional meal. To finish, I indulged in a warm apple crumble, which arrived looking like a snowy mound, thanks to a generous dusting of powdered sugar. The filling was a sweet and spiced mixture of tender apple pieces—clearly homemade and served piping hot. I opted for their homemade vanilla sauce/custard and I'm glad I did because it was outstanding. It was the ideal conclusion to a rich meal: sweet, comforting, and not too heavy, hitting all the nostalgic notes of a perfect fall dessert. If you are looking for authentic, delicious food in a cozy setting, this is a must-try. Everything from the presentation to the final bite was...

Zamówiłam pierogi z mięsem 9szt i dodatkowo 1 ruski. Pierogi z owocami kiepskie, do zjedzenia jedynie te z porzeczką, z truskawkami - wygotowana breja, a to wszystko podane z „sosem waniliowym”.

I liked atmosphere the most. I just arrived to Warsaw and wanted to chill in some authentic atmosphere. The interior was not extremely beautiful but it was so cosy. The light was dim, authentic furniture, authentic food... I melted. They specialize in traditional food like pirogi and such. I took assortment of pirogis (meat, mushroom and other fillings). I economised in sour cream as it costed almost like half of pirogi, too expensive, strange thing, but it would be better with it as they were dry without it, although they were tasty. I also took a glass of craft beer and the taste was amazing. Staff doesn't look very happy though, I guess it's hard to work there in the tourist zone, but they were not rude. It is situated right in the middle if the old city. Overall it was a great experience and great local vibe. I enjoyed it so much!

The food was very good and not expensive. You can customize your order for Pierogi and instead of only 1 kind you can get different flavors together on one plate. My partner and I decided to share a plate of pierogis as a starter and chose 9 different ones, however we got a lot more (I think we got 13) and double ones so something went wrong there. It was still good tho but we were already kinda full when the main dish came. They have nice drinks to! Service is ok, felt a bit rushed because the waitress kept asking us if we wanted to order every 30 seconds. all and all not the best service but the food was very good and so are the prices so I would go back there!
