I've been there four days ago and i can still remember the taste of their food. It is absolutely not a touristic place, despite being in the very center: food is amazing and typical polish, service is very kind and always on point (even if we were clearly tourists, they treated us perfectly and spoke in english without any problem), the atmosphere is intimate and very quite, dinner big room is beautiful and there's enough space among the tables to let you feel confortable. About the food: the smoked tartare is amazing, żurek inside bread is simply great, the beef cheek is out of this world. And the price is absolutely reasonable, of course a little higher than the polish average but still much cheaper than the western standard: we had two starters (beef tartare and goose stomachs), two soups (żurek and consommé with dumplings), two main courses (beef cheek and duck breast), a bottle of wine and service for 120€, and a final liquor offered (and again, the quality of all the food was astonishing). And there was no space for a dessert because we were completely full. Thank you so much for the amazing dinner, we had such a great...
Read moreI ate at the same time as a big group, which might be the root of all my complaints. But here goes anyway.
The food tasted good. The wait for the food to be made was about 25 minutes. The restaurant was incredibly loud to the point where it made me feel ill. I was sitting next to a large party, but mainly the live piano music was just much too loud. I ordered the only two main dishes that didn't mention potatoes in the descriptions, trying to minimize carbs. One came with potatoes, the other rice. The portions were very small. My fillet had a few very small bones in it. The staff didn't bother me while eating, which is good. But I don't think it's policy, rather that they were just too busy. The wait to get my bill was approx 35 minutes. I asked for it three times. The dishes and a bottle of water came to 170zl. They included a 10-15% tip, which I usually would prefer, but since it took so long to get the bill, if I had the choice I would not have tipped. The chairs were nice. I'm picky...
Read moreI haven't actually tried the food here, why the five star review you may ask. We were just enjoying an evening stroll around old town when we heard some wonderful live jazz coming from down the street, we followed the music to Stolica, a three piece band was playing outside on the patio so we stopped and enjoyed a very nice glass of wine while listening to the band, it was a very pleasant and unexpected stop for us, the service was excellent even though we only had one glass each and the music was wonderful. The place had many people enjoying food and it all looked and smelled wonderful!
We learned that they have live music during the summer on the patio every weekend from 18:00 to 22:00 and most weekdays also, we will return soon for a meal at which point I will actually review the food!
I have since returned for a meal, a couple of times and it was wonderful! The food was full of flavor and perfectly cooked and the service...
