Can't recommend this place at all after the experience we had last night.
Important to mention that I already had an upset stomach but even though, the starter which was seafood croquettes had this "blow your head off" spice to it. Unnecessary and OTT. And yes before you say, I saw that it was supposed to be a chilli garnish but it was way too strong. That's a mistake that the Head Chef should be on top of and unprofessional.
The ribeye steak came all hacked up in pieces, very odd. Never had a rib-eye served like that before. Also it was a bit chewy to be honest and unseasoned.
The mash with truffle-oil was bland and cold. Had been sitting around before serving. The parmesan chips were boring, unseasoned. The mayo was uninspired and questionable.
My colleagues all concurred. Yes I had an upset stomach so I didn't request a refund for the food I'd been served as I wouldn't have probably eaten much anyway. But for the sake of transparency and fairness.
Later, tried to request the bill from a passing waitress who was quite disparaging in her response. That with the door blasting in very cold air throughout the restaurant was quite off-putting.
I really had high hopes for and wanted to enjoy my experience at Reina which was very promising initially when we entered with wonderful Christmas decorations and the coolest sax player, but to me that's all hype. The food really lets this place down (especially at these...
Read moreReina Steakhouse was a letdown. The food did not match the high prices - it was unremarkable and not worth the cost. However, what truly soured my experience was an instance of misinformation.
The most concerning part of the experience came when I ordered their steak tartare. When the dish arrived, it bore no resemblance to any tartare I had ever tasted or seen before. Confused, I asked the waiter if there had been a mistake. She insisted that what I received was, indeed, the tartare. Thinking that perhaps Reina Steakhouse had a unique interpretation of the dish, I decided to accept her word for it and eat the meal.
However, when the check arrived, I discovered that the dish had been billed as carpaccio - not tartare. It was a clear error or deception on part of the server. To make matters worse, the waiter had falsely reassured me that the dish I was eating was tartare when I had questioned it.
Even though there was no price difference between the dishes and I did not make a fuss over the incorrect item, the issue goes beyond a mere mix-up. It was a violation of trust - the basic tenet of hospitality. This situation would have been handled much differently, had the staff admitted their mistake upfront, replaced the dish or at least apologized for the confusion.
Considering the average food, high prices, and a lack of honesty, I won't recommend Reina Steakhouse. I won't...
Read moreThe third restaurant of the chain after Maho and Pera; which both of them highly known and successful places in Warsaw's culinary map. The place wouldn't look out of place in London or Dubai; decoration. lights, furniture and cutlery-all very high quality. I went there two evenings in a row; first night I tried the famous dry aged steak -New York style. The owner is obsessed with the quality of the meat, hence it literally melts in your mouth-and the sauce makes you eat full basket of bread! The only small issue is that steak was not served on a hot plate like they do in Pera; that's why it was not scorching hot. However the owner told me that they will go back to hot plates. We'll see. The second evening I opted for Reina hamburger and fries. Hamburger's good but the credit should go to the fries: they are fried twice at different temperatures and you do feel (or taste)the difference: crispy outside, soft inside. Tiramisu was the best I've eaten in Warsaw-masterpiece. Reina is not cheap but you get what you pay for. Excellent location in city center, fabulous decoration, excellent food and great staff. I'm sure it will carve itself a well-deserved place in Warsaw's city center; just like...
