Hello, on Thursday we visited your restaurant after arriving in Warsaw. From the outside it looked great, with a nice terrace, and since we were staying just 30 meters from your restaurant, we told ourselves that if the food was good, we would come back the following days to try more dishes.
On Thursday we were welcomed by a kind waitress, and in general everyone seemed to be smiling. The food was good, although I would call the “steak” more like roasted chicken breast with bacon. The potatoes were a bit rubbery. The beer was good by Polish standards. However, the Staropramen was served without any foam, and for us Czechs, foam on beer is very important. It reminded me more of beer in England, which tastes like flavored water without foam. Still, it wasn’t that bad, and overall I was satisfied with the visit on Thursday.
On Friday we decided to come again, and here things took quite a different turn. On Friday there was a different staff, and that really changed my impression of your restaurant. First of all, it was 11 a.m., and unlike Thursday, when at the same time I was able to order from the lunch menu, on Friday there were still only breakfast dishes available.
We were served by a young guy who clearly doesn’t like his job, and a little smile would have helped. Overall, the whole staff seemed to be in a bad mood, and they projected this onto the customers. Although I’m Slovak, I tried speaking Polish, but he didn’t understand me and offered to speak Russian instead!! I strongly refused. Honestly, I could have just stood up and walked away. I would never expect someone in Poland to suggest speaking Russian! I would never speak Russian. Interestingly, in Ukrainian restaurants this isn’t a problem for the staff at all.
After ordering, I received as a kind of appetizer several types of bread with spreads, but unfortunately they were not good – the bread was dry and the spreads were not tasty.
The food itself was ok, but the potatoes, which on Thursday were rubbery, turned out to be even moldy on Friday, so I had to put them aside. We had to order breakfast. I didn’t receive a drinks menu, so I just ordered coffee and waited until noon to have lunch. We ordered some food plus beer, but I accidentally spilled one beer with my hand. I would have expected someone to come with a cloth to wipe the table or the floor, but no one did. The spilled beer, even though it was clearly an accident, was still fully charged on my bill. I understand it’s technically correct, but from a human perspective, I would expect not to be charged in such a situation.
In front of the restaurant, there was a woman standing the whole time, who seemed to be a manager (she was dressed differently from the rest of the staff), but she also wasn’t very interested and didn’t smile unless someone specifically asked her something or made eye contact.
Overall, Friday left me rather disappointed. I don’t understand why you employ people who don’t enjoy their work. Thursday was much better.
Therefore, my 2-star rating is mainly based on the overall impression from Friday: the attitude of the staff without a smile, the unprofessional service, and the poor quality of the potatoes (rubbery on Thursday and even moldy on Friday).

Read moreWe recently had the pleasure of dining at U Sióstr to celebrate our son's upcoming wedding, and it was a truly memorable experience. As my wife is Ukrainian, we have high expectations when it comes to authentic Ukrainian cuisine, and U Sióstr exceeded them in every way.
The food was outstanding—rich, flavorful, and authentically prepared, it reminded my wife of home. Every dish we tried was a hit, all made with care and attention to detail. The quality and freshness of the ingredients were evident in every bite.
The service was equally impressive. The staff was warm, attentive, and went out of their way to make sure our family dinner was special. They were knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent recommendations, which added to the overall experience.
The atmosphere at U Sióstr is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect setting for our celebration. It felt like we were sharing a meal at a family gathering, which made our evening even more special.
We left the restaurant with full stomachs and happy hearts, and we're already looking forward to our next visit. U Sióstr is a gem for anyone seeking authentic Ukrainian cuisine, decoration and genuine hospitality. Highly...
Read moreWe went in hungry for Ukrainian food but also curious to sample the vibe. The food, apart from Solianka, was a bad joke. We had to return, or simply leave unfinished most of it. Ribs, wings, potato pancakes and kluski, I swear, tasted like they came from a 60 seconds microwave box. Tomato soup had no tomatoes in it (ok, it may have had one). When we quezed waitress about it she said that They don't know the tomato soup in Ukraine. Slotted it in to cater to Polish tastes. Lesson learned I guess. Waiting staff was helpful. The strangest thing, however, was the fact that almost none of guests coming in and out (mostly couples), bothered to close the entrance door behind them. Like it wasn't there. It quickly became a source of giggles for us, asking almost everyone to kindly turn back and close the door behind them. There was a guy who - when I shouted muted "hey dude" while pointing at the door left ajar as he and his missus were leaving, came back and poked his head through it looking left and right for something he thought I was trying to show him. Took him two seconds to go - ahh, the door..! Yeah, we definitely got some vibe if...
