I am writing this review with utter disappointment and frustration. After six years, I returned to Rasoi....a restaurant I once loved during my time living in Warsaw. It used to be a warm, welcoming place with good food and courteous staff. Sadly, that Rasoi no longer exists.
The experience this time was downright offensive. The staff was unwelcoming from the start. I had barely stepped inside when I was rushed to place my order, without even being given a moment to sit down or remove my coat. When I asked for just a minute to settle in, I was met with blatant rudeness and impatience.
Then came the most bizarre and frankly insulting part: I ordered kadhai paneer, a classic Indian dish, and the server asked me: Undian style or normal? I was completely confused. What does that even mean? When I politely asked her to clarify—she almost shouted at me, saying, “You are Indian, that is why I asked Indian style. Her tone was condescending and dismissive. It felt less like a question and more like a thinly veiled jab. When I told her to just make the dish however they normally do and simply keep the spice level low, she visibly rolled her eyes and acted annoyed, as if I had done something wrong by asking for a basic explanation.
This was not just poor service, it was almost a discriminatory behavior.
There was no effort to be polite, no trace of hospitality, and absolutely no respect.
I felt disrespected and deeply disappointed. I immediately left and had food in Kathmandu restaurant, not even 1km away from Rasoi with a far better and respectful staff!!!
Update: looking at negative reciews, it seems they are indeed racist against...
Read moreIt seems strange that I should give this 4 stars but it feels right. I went here a couple times and it was either hit or miss. I had the best chana masala I’ve ever had here, but then I also just had the blandest chicken tikka ever. The reason for the 4 stars is because of something that just happened. There I was sitting and eating when the man next to me receives his I think chicken madras, a known spicy dish. I’m eating my bland tikka when I legitimately hear this man choking and wheezing and coughing. Obviously the food was too spicy. I never looked at him though, minded my own business. When the server came around and asked how the food was he said please take it, through his coughing fit. He had finished his water and was struggling. They asked if he really wanted them to take it away or to box it up. he said just take it its too spicy. the server looked confused but took it. The man continued to choke and the bill came. Even though he had eaten literally only one spoonful and suffered through it, they fully charged him for it. They didn’t even offer water. I know this is Poland, not known for service, but still. He left quickly...
Read moreMy recent visit to Rasoi Restaurant was marred by an exceptionally unpleasant experience due to the rude behavior of the staff (a thin girl) . I cannot express how disappointed I am with the service I received. From the moment I walked in, the staff's attitude was dismissive and condescending. Instead of a warm welcome, I was met with icy stares and curt responses to my questions. It was evident that they had little regard for customer service or basic politeness. Throughout the meal, the staff's rudeness persisted. They seemed bothered by any request or inquiry, and their overall demeanor was hostile. It created an uncomfortable and unwelcoming atmosphere, completely ruining what should have been an enjoyable dining experience. In light of this terrible experience, I cannot recommend Rasoi Restaurant to anyone. The food may be good, but the staff's rude behavior overshadowed any positive aspects. This thin girl from India & don't know how to greet an Indian. I sincerely hope that the restaurant management addresses this issue promptly to avoid driving away more...
