Tried the cocido de grao a' alentejana, porco a' portuguesa, and escalopes de vitelo con cogumelos. A half portion was more than enough. The cocido was very good with lots of pieces of pigs feet and sausage, but the pork was underwhelming with tough meat, some pickled veggies and not-so-exciting pieces of potato. Veal with mushrooms was fine and came with a small side salad. Prices were fair, but the service was awful. The waiter was obviously sick and was coughing frequently either over the cheese plates at his work station or sort of covering his month but never using the hand sanitizer after. No mask in sight of course. It made us really uncomfortable to be seated right beside his station. He seemed very annoyed to have to help us with the menu, was irritated when I tried to clarify that we only wanted a half portion of each dish, and then after delivering the food, he proceeded to completely ignore us for the rest of the meal. He was slightly more friendly to the non-tourists in the restaurant. All in all, decent food for a good price, but service and atmosphere, as well as health precautions left much...
Read moreIt's the best place to eat authentic local food but they clearly don't like tourists. The food is amazing, no doubt! Except the cheesecake that was frozen and tastless. Just take the typic desserts and you're good. I am impressed it is so cheap, especially the wine! The service is quick and the staff speak French and English. The decoration is typic and cozy, it is lovely. But the staff was rude. They did not answered questions about the food clearly. When I asked a wine recommendation, they said "white wine" (I had fish) and that's it, no choice, no explanation, even though they had a menu. They we got 2 glasses of wine instead of the one I asked (filled to the brim, which is odd but I am not complaining). I asked about the food portion since It can wildly differ from place to place and I can rarely eat a full plate in Portugal; I got no clear respond and a mocking laugh. I regularly travel around Portugal when visiting my family in Braga and I never felt so unwelcome. I recommand it if you want typic food and mood and don't care to feel like you don't...

I liked the old fashion looks of the place and hoped to find something authentic and charming… how wrong :(
The Brazilian accent waiter on the counter, a very aggressive, noisy, unpleasant, unprofessional and extremely unaware of any welcoming and polite form completely ruined my experience.
Okay, the pastel de bacalhau was dry and without flavor, the beer was not great, but this dude’s loud and aggressive atitude was way more that unacceptable!
Horrible ! Stay away from this place and above all… away from staff that are unprofessional and completely unaware of any sophistication.
At a moment I actually believe he was making so much noise moving is plates, cups and knifes and forks just to … kick you out!
