Bar Canto Alentejano Évora — Restaurant in Évora

Nice terrace and inside but the service was not that good. 1 person for the whole bar and terrace who was really stressed. 2 other tables came in later but got yheir drinks first, according to the waiter because they just ordered coffee. We ordered drinks and toast but where already waiting 20 minutes and no drinks where being served. It was not so much the waiting time but the attitude of the waiter that upset my husband. He got really defensive and couldn’t handle the stress. I worked as a waitress and in this kind of situations you act as a professional and just apologise to clients for the delay and not following the right serving order, you don’t get defensive and lash out to them if you ask to give you a time indication. I cannot judge the food, we just had toast. But prices where really low. The tea was served almost cold, it probably stood...

We spent 2 days in Evora. First of all, we were used to pay between 3.5€ and 5€ for 0.33 Litres of Beer. Then we found Canto Alentejano where 1 Liter (5 x 0.2) served on a wooden board costs 5€. That means, 0.33 Liters of Beer cost 1.66 € in this place. Absolutely insane! The Tapas are by far the best i have i ever tasted - and trust me - i tried a lot. Their creations are so unique and tasty - it's actually hard to put my thoughts into words. We were served by Catarina and Miguel (also the friendliest service i have ever experienced in my life) and we literally couldnt have been happier. 5/5 Stars, If you ever visit Evora, visit this place. Good value for money, unfortunately some members of staff are charging tourist prices tough. Timeslots on Google and menu are not accurate. Came here for after diner drinks at 21:40, aiming the bar is open till 23:00 according to Google. However, when entering the bar the bartender informed the bar closes at 22:00. Same Guy informed us earlier the same day drinks which are listed on the menu are not available, and the menu needs to be updated. Same guy also charges tourist prices. Other members of staff did not do this. Great place however expectation management and price accurance need to be improved....
