Can't rate this 5 stars. that would mean a fabulous view, and food, and service, at somewhat reasonable prices. Might give it a 4 star, but the waiter was quite rude, tho he seemed to understand and speak English. We were the first people in there, and a group of 8 Chinese people were next. We didn't decide what to order right away, so he walked off, later returned to take all but one of our menus to give to them. He refused to give one of us a sample of the house wine (tho I realize that might be asking a bit much) tho they did have an open bottle. He refused to give us separate checks for each of our two couples. He didn't check or bring some more bread for a good 30 minutes. (It was not busy yet) When the food came, it was plentiful and good, but hardly fabulous. The room was nice, but noisy. The bill was handwritten, hardly itemized (lots of appetizers, none gratis) He let us put half the final bill on each of 2 credit cards. Maybe he was having a bad day for some reason, but he dropped our rating of the...
Read moreWhat a gem! This restaurant is located down a very narrow cobbled side street. The dining room was simple and tasteful and had a really nice feeling to it with the nicely set tables. You are not crammed in as you may be in other places, but the space is still intimate and comfortable. The food was outstanding. You could taste the high quality of the local, fresh ingredients. The main dishes were delicious, but all the side vegetables were equally good and, I think, deserve to be featured as mains. I just can’t overstate how good the food is. And, contrary to a few of the reviews I read and thankfully ignored, the prices are beyond reasonable. We were very hungry and absolutely stuffed ourselves with 5 appetizers, two mains that were very large, a dessert, a beer, a bottle of water, and two very good glasses of wine for . . . about $90. Service was...
Read moreCozy place. All but one of the tables were filled. Good wines- reasonable prices. Had the bread, cheese, and tomato salad aa tapas. All were excellent. The shredded rabbit looked really good too. For dinner my wife had the veal tenderloin steak. Beautifully done. Tender and flavorful. I had the roasted baby goat. Large pieces of melt in your mouth braised kid with a wonderful sauce and potatoes that were cooked with it. Ate every bit even though it was a large portion. Main dishes came with rice, housemade potato chips, and puréed spinach. All were excellent. Stuck to a real simple dessert – fresh pineapple in a port sauce. €19 for a really nice local red wine. Cartuxa. Highly recommended – small so make your reservation. Great service....
