O Gandim is a cozy restaurant located on a quiet corner in the old town of Évora, with around 10-12 tables, which gives it an intimate charm.

When I arrived, seating was available, and I was warmly greeted by Ana, whose friendly and attentive service made a great first impression.

I ordered the restaurant’s signature Carne à Portuguesa, and it was excellent — the meat was perfectly cooked, tender, and full of authentic flavor. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, making the dining experience very enjoyable.

What stood out to me was not just the quality of the food but also the genuine hospitality from Ana and the rest of the staff, which added a personal touch to the meal.

We had the best food at O Gandim! We came here two evenings in a row because of the delicious food. It is the real Portuguese cuisine but with a lot of creativity. This chef has a great future ahead!
