The very definition of authentic local cuisine. Very limited menu, as it should be, based on home-cooked favourites. We had lamb and potato stew, where the stew gravy is served separately with generous quantities of good bread. Prices are excellent, especially for drinks: 33cl beer - €1.20 0.5ltr wine - €2.50 Chocolate milk - €1
No English spoken, but the owner is patient and friendly, and with the aid of sign language and Google Translate, no problem at all.
In summary, great food, excellent value, wonderful 'time warp' environment, and a superb and authentic local dining experience to be remembered. So very much better than the tourist traps in the town centre. 1/3 the price, twice the quality, and a dozen times...
