Roca Beach Bar & Restaurante — Restaurant in Albufeira

We went to this place to have lunch before going to the beach. The service was slow even though it was not busy. My boyfriend got his plate and waited a long time for mine. We asked a waiter if it was coming. She went to the back to check, but we still waited a long time for it (it was only a yogurt bowl — it shouldn’t take that much time). Then the waitress who took our order came after a while to check, and I told her I hadn’t gotten my food yet. She then proceeded to tell me that she was on break but had asked someone to let me know that there was no more yogurt. She apologized for it, but still... I asked if I could have the menu so I could choose something else. I told my boyfriend to start eating because his dish was going to get cold. He had time to finish his whole dish, and the waitress still did not come back to take my order. She was talking to a friend (I guess) and even took the order of another table but never came back to see me. Then, another waitress came to take away my boyfriend’s plate because he had finished eating. She asked if everything was fine, and I told her I was still waiting to order something because the waitress hadn’t come back. I also told her that I would just take the check, please, because there was no point in staying in this place anymore and spending any more money. Really disappointed by the service. The waitress didn’t even come to bring our check — it was another one — and she didn’t even say goodbye...

1 star only because I cannot get lower. Very disrespectful and not interested staff. I’ll share our experience. They lost our order since the waiter left the note in his pocket and it’s okay, it can happen. However, 40 minutes later after we had sat our food ( we ordered omelette ) still hadn’t been served while many other guests arrived after us had already gotten their food. We made the staff notice that our food still hadn’t arrived and they didn’t even say they were sorry or tried to make up for it. Eventually, our omelette (and c’mon: it literally takes 10 minutes to prepare) arrived one hour and half after we had sat. This is unacceptable but the worst part is that staff couldn’t care less. Horrible service and manners and it’s not even high season since the restaurant was not even crowded. They granted us a discount on something (bread) we didn’t even order, WELL thanks a lot for this 1€ discount.

Don’t get impressed by the fact it’s a restaurant on the beach because it’s not worth your money. I honestly don’t understand the positive reviews since also the food was pretty average.
