Zé do Peixe Assado — Restaurant in Albufeira

We were really looking forward to a visit there , as a special there was a beautifull piece of backeljau or cod advertised ( with foto ) Portuguese way . My wife can only eat fish if no ( fish) bones are present . We asked 3 times and it was checked with the kitchen . YES it was fillet no bones no problem. But a little bell rang as we ordered some bread and butter and paté , got charged 3 ways for some dry bread ( not an advert for any baker ) a tiny one portion of butter and similar amount of sardine past . After all the fish was freshly cooked and would take 30 minutes . Well long story short from the 2 filets we had , more bones were left on the plate as from a roast chicken . Taste was not bad at first salty buttery and oil , one side was beautiful cooked but the other half was tough and was even hard to seperate from the bone so not cooked enough at all. Please be aware . I did have a word with management but further then a few apologies no action . Please if you cant deliver ( we asked for fillet) dont...

It had been a favourite of mine but it is getting worse every year! It is more expensive every year (more than inflation!) And the service gets worse. The last time I had the worst experience! Unfortunately the light went out and they were no longer able to continue the service. I was in the middle of my meal and still they decided to charge the full price for the Rodízio (all you can eat). I had clearly not had what I expected to eat. There was absolutely no care for the customers as they only tried to cash in. Moreover, the service was very slow from the beginning and not customer centred. It gets worse every year! This was the last time. 25€ rodízio per person for a very poor service and not delivering on the promise (all you can eat). Wine of the house is not good! Was enticed in by a very good sales man, the best in the town. Its very cafe style which isnt a issue...until we sat down and the staff didn't understand any English. Luckily I knew a little spannish as that's what the staff spoke. The starter was superb being prawns. The main is what sold it to us, portugease steak. It however was not! Mine was inedible and didn't come out correctly. My partner ate his as he was so hungry and has been poorly for 4 days. The steak was boiled and served with crisps in a watery Gravy. When we asked for frites and fried eggs we got it 20 minutes later. They avoided us completely the rest of the meal. Be careful here. Expectations won't be met even though its sold very well outside. The guy outside has one idea of what the menu is but the chef is cooking something...
