O Pipo — Restaurant in Almada

I'm not sure how this restaurant has ever received any positive ratings. Our food was terrible, the Bacalhao com Natas was watery and more or less tasteless and the Bacalhao a Pipo was drowned in oil, especially the onions. The waitress didn't even ask about how the food was when our half-full plates got picked up again - as if she quietly knew that the food isn't good. Additionally, the tables seemed to be quite close to each other as if no changes had been made whatsoever with regards to the COVID-19 pandemic. A very disappointing and thus short experience. No recommendation...

We were seated on a small terrace with very little space so that our stay was not too comfortable. A (chargeable!) starter of different local specialties was offered unsolicitedly but could be rejected if explicitly said so. Anyway, we sadly did not like the taste of our meals (the "Beefsteak O Pipo" was kind of boiled in olive oil but not at all fried and tasted very... interesting). Our favourite place to eat in Caparica! We've come here several years running and they owners and staff are always welcoming and friendly, and particularly considerate of my autistic son, who can be quite a handful! The food is always excellent, and we recommend the shellfish (amejoas, lingerau etc) and secretos de porco.
