I recently visited the Iron Duke Pub in Aveiro with my girlfriend for a light afternoon meal. The cosy ambience and decent service provided a comfortable setting for our dining experience.

We decided to try the rustic bread ham toast, which did not disappoint in satisfying our hunger. The portion size was generous, and the bread had a rustic charm that added to its appeal. However, there was one drawback that prevented us from fully enjoying the meal—the ham and the accompanying side fries were overly salted. This diminished the overall flavour and made it difficult to savour the dish to its fullest.

I ordered from The Iron Duke through Uber Eats, looking forward to a hearty burger meal. Despite the impressive speed of delivery, the food itself was a letdown. The burger patty was undercooked to the point of being raw inside, and the fries were anything but the crispy sidekick one would anticipate, arriving soggy and limp.

The fundamental issue with the core items of my order compels me to give this experience a 1-star rating. Nice pub. Very 'classic' in his design with good collection of beers most are a little pricy but still nice. We came a little before dinner on a rainy day so the place was quite empty but still nice atmosphere with places to sit both in/outdoors. The staff speaks good English which was very nice. We asked for 2 types of burgers, the bacon cheeseburger one and the chicken jalapeno. They both were good and priced reasonably.
