Hotel Aveiro Center — Hotel in Aveiro

We were visiting Aveiro for just two nights (should have stayed longer) and have to say that the Hotel Aveiro Center was just so nice. Very friendly staff, very clean and nicely renovated rooms and lobby.||||The hotel is so well located you can reach the harbor area in hardly 5 minutes and it's relatively quiet too. The rooms were large enough for our needs (two of us with two large suitcases), good internet and a comfortable bed. Internet wifi was also fast and reliable.||||The breakfast is to die for...just flat our outstanding. The breakfast area is kept spotless, tables are sanitized after each guest and oh my...the selection of pastries, coffees, freshly squeezed orange juice, eggs, bacon, sliced meats, various cheeses, etc. is beyond the norm.||||We arrived at the Aveiro train station and a cab ride to the hotel for both of us was under €7...not bad at all.||||The front desk staff were very kind and helpful and spoke very good English. All in all we considered this to be (so far) one of the best places we've stayed. We can highly recommend...

Friendly place with comfortable rooms in a quiet street just a couple of hundred yards from the centre of town, with an excellent breakfast. No on site parking, so use nearby streets or if using a foreign registered vehicle (eg Spanish) check with hotel staff for safety recommendations. The nearest car parks are a five minute walk back.||We asked for restaurant and bar recommendations and got two cracking top tips which we'd recommend too - the nearby Cais da Tosca restaurant (yes it may look unremarkable and when we went in midweek, largely empty, but the food and service were excellent) and the extraordinary Mercado Negro bar on the second floor of an old and largely abandoned...

I was charged over by having a kid with me. I understand the policy, but I was informed just when check out time, which is unacceptable. However I paid, and I left with bad impression. Don’t forget to say that when check in, I was offered to buy tickets for boat at higher price than outdoor, and of course I was recommended 2 restaurants without asking for it. Finally, have to mention the elevator, slowest I have been. And of course, hotel is overpriced and just take profit of high season. Altogether, I don’t...
