Clotilde — Restaurant in Cascais

Highly recommended by the hotel and pretty good reviews, but I really did not enjoy my dinner.

Female server was super kind, but the food was just not what I expected. The crab pate but was very cold, had pieces of crab shell, and did not taste fresh. The octopus fillet, with the rice and beans was my main course. The octopus had a very salty coating, deep-fried, and the rice and beans were tasty, but that’s just rice and beans. I paid €36.80 including 2.80 for filtered water.

I’m pretty sure there are many more places around here where you can have a better dinner. What a pity, I expect...

This restaurant should be on your list if you are staying in Estoril near Cascais. Right near the Palacio Hotel and Casino, this small but cozy restaurant sits in a corner. Service is excellent, inviting and attentive. Food was excellent (and this is after a week eating outstanding food in Lisbon and the Algarve). Great balance of quality and affordability.
