$$$ Beware extra cost. I didn't read the bad reviews until I came in the trap with an expensive starter(3 euro carrots) which were brought to the table by no request and not slightly indicated as an extra cost(an expensive one!), neither slightly question-appearance wondering if I wanted that or not. When I came by to aks how much was the cost of it, the answer was a lie by 1 euro(that was extra unnesseserely given the main issue). When I said that I didn't liked what happened marking that as a pure comment without any further request, I clearly infuriated the waitress and came in an argument instead of her addressing the issue or apologies for making the extra service not obvious(she stated the opposite). As simple as that, the dry apology would be enough, but this restaurant keep making such a questionable statement, maybe defending such service for other restaurants? I always have been asked about olives at other restaurants in Portugal being here for almost a mounth, making that understandable tradition for me but the fact that it is not indicated is a bad service, being infuriated by a review is a bad service and is not something we do here in the community, neither do people in the restaurants long enough in business. Very unfortunate, as at the end, the food and the atmosphere was great. That fact made me give you 4 stars, regardless of the bad mood left...
Read moreAttracted by the soft whispering of Brazilian song in this quiet alley I asked for a table at sushi cafe Suki. I had one of the few outside in the cool breeze. What to expect? Although I already felt comfortable with the greetings, hospitality and smiles, no sushi chef from Japan to be found. First they served the chilled wine. Brilliant choice, of the host i would say, because there were only two to choose from. But who needs a choice when the wine they have is a perfect match to the food and to my liking. I chose the menu degustation. Little dishes, of Japanese inspired cuisine, but where and why did the perfect ceviche ended up in the menu? That's a bold choice to start with. And brilliant. I loved it with every bit. Fresh, good structure, good balance. And they kept coming with small sweet conversation, and amazing dishes. Even a crispy corn tortilla, overflowing with taste. To end with the regular sushi and a bit of sashimi to prove that they know what they're doing. And for comfort. You came there for sushi, right, but you ll leave enriched with surprise. Never missed a Japanese chef for a moment. Heartwarming service, exciting...
Read moreAfter having several Portuguese mules that were drenched in olive oil, we were looking for something different and lighter to eat.
I saw the great reviews on this place and decided to give it a try for lunch.
The sushi is super fresh. Some of the best I’ve eaten. And I’ve eaten sushi and Thailand, United States, Mexico, Colombia and Brazil.
Based on what I’ve had, this is freshest sushi I’ve eaten. The pieces melt in your mouth.
It’s a more traditional sushi place but they also have some fusion if that’s what you’re into.
We tried the gyoza and miso soup. The soup was fresh and light. But the gyoza were then best I’ve had.
Don’t hesitate to give this place a try if you’re looking for an alternative to traditional...
