De Benedictis - Gastronomia Italiana — Restaurant in Cascais

Had a wonderful meal here with my wife's parents. The Italian (owner)? Was fantastic from start to finish but.. when I came back a couple few days later in need of the washroom the HAG at the counter with a wide smile said its only for clients. I said I understand but I was a client in the recent past and she again, with no care or rlconcern said, nope, sorry. I guess she didn't know we are here for 3 months and are planning on moving here. We loved the meal and our server but we wont tolerate such insolence from such a person.

I got your "auto" response. In Canada we are polite and no one in Canada would ever deny someone something so small and pety. The female took pleasure in the denial which is honestly inhumane. To say she felt "threatened" is a synical and predictable response. A man stands up to abuse and of course the female feels threatened? How predictable. And how predictable it is you stand up for your "partner" pubically instead of meditating on it and changing your "rules" and silly behavior. Finally standing up to abuse is not an attack, it is necessary...

I recently visited De Benedictis in Cascais, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. I ordered the spaghetti carbonara, but it was extremely salty, which really ruined the flavor. While most of the staff were friendly and created a lively atmosphere, one waiter seemed quite grumpy, which wasn’t great for the overall vibe.

The biggest letdown was the dessert. The presentation was poor it looked like it had just been placed on its packaging and, to make matters worse, it wasn’t exactly what I ordered. For a restaurant with such a good reputation, this was very surprising and quite frustrating.

The location and ambiance have a lot of potential, but the food quality and attention to detail need serious improvement. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend it based on my visit, unless...

Small friendly sincere family run business. About 5 tables in main dining room, plus a small upstairs area with a few tables and a few outside. Authentic Italian! Ravioli stuffed with prawn and scallops! Plus quite a few varieties of ravioli. Dark red sauce or the white cream - both are excellent. The eggplant 🍆 parma was thinly sliced and baked to perfection. On a busy tourist street but once inside you feel cozy and well taken care of. These people care! And work so hard! The owner is IN the kitchen and brings the food out! Amazing! Great icy lemoncello.
