Gandhi Palace — Restaurant in Cascais

I have had the opportunity of dining at many fine Indian restaurants, in many different countries, over the years. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of dining at Gandhi Palace in Cascais, Portugal. I grew up in Toronto, Canada, where we have many great Indian restaurants. Gandhi Palace is one of the best experiences that I have ever had. The food was so amazing, that I dreamt about it last night. So much so, that I found myself dining there again this evening. The service was second to none. I seriously mean that. The staff were mindful and kind. The timing, as to when the courses of food arrived, was perfect. This quaint little restaurant, in the heart of Cascais, is gem. Even during the bustling tourist season, serenity is the most suitable word in describing the atmosphere, which is a combination of the restaurants decor, but also a byproduct of the attentive and caring staff. If you like Indian food, and have the opportunity of visiting Cascais, do not hesitate in dining at this...

Okayish food but poor service. There are much better options nearby. They charge money to pack food but don’t even provide disposable spoons or tissue paper! They don’t provide bowls even for dishes like dal! You eat directly from serving bowls! The staff is weird! One waiter did not even speak a word while serving. No affirmative responses or a smile whatsoever! I wondered a few times if he understood what he needs to be bring! The other staff was very similar to people at other tables also! A bit unprofessional! As soon as I got in I told I need a charger as my phone was dying off. He was fine to give me a charger in the starting but then rudely took it back as soon as I placed my order and couldn’t exit the restaurant!

Gandhi Palace is a refined Indian gastronomy restaurant located in the pedestrian street of the city of Cascais. The dishes are too delicious, generous and I can't find the words to describe the superior quality of their dishes. Prices are within the price ranges applied in this area. The reservations is recommended for lunch or dinner because the restaurant is very popular with vacationers. The restaurant has a few tables on the terrace and a dining room inside. The Parking space nearby is very difficult, you should park more than 1 km around and walk to the city center. The value for money is largely positive.
