Enseada Food and Drinks — Restaurant in Funchal

First of all, it's a very nice restaurant, friendly service, nice atmosphere and they sometimes seem to have music too.

However, the food was unfortunately one of the worst experiences we had in Madeira / Funchal. The menu may be well designed (despite a small selection only) but it seemed like an intern or someone really inexperienced was preparing the food. The execution in the kitchen seemed poor. The beef tartare was too coarse, the meat selected was rather unsuitable for a tartare. The ceviche was marinated and prepared completely wrong, raw fish was soaked (!) in orange marinade. The proportions were inappropriate and ruined the dish.

Sorry guys, but some 'homework' needs to be done and you'll do...

I am not easy to please...but this place took me and my family on ride! The service was out this world, world class 100%. The food was not just good, it was great. We shared a plate of cheese and charcuterie and it was very generous. Two of us had the sirloin with potatoes and I had the "Gringa and piscos" and it was really great! We stayed for 4 hours enjoying the top notch service, food, wine and after that some drinks and had a more than a perfect evening with a live-band fulfilling the night. A Must-Visit in Funchal! We had the pleasure of dining at Enseada Food and Drinks and it was absolutely beautiful. It’s such a great spot for both food and drinks — the cocktails were fantastic and the octopus we had as a main course was cooked to perfection. The stunning sea view adds even more magic to the experience.

But what truly makes this place special is the staff. Every single person we interacted with was warm, polite, and genuinely seemed to enjoy making guests feel welcome. Their great energy really set the mood for an unforgettable evening.
