It is nice japanese restaurant with 8 eur / person - smorgasboard during day (lunch time) and 15 eur / person unlimited orders from menu in the evening (dinners). Menu is 52 positions if i remember correctly - from sushi, sashimi and different varieties of shrimps to dumpling and unordinary japanese stuff and fried beef and ham. Everything is being prepared in 5-10 minutes, sometimes stuff forget some orders but is normal - we had a table of 10 people and everybody orders 3-4 dishes in average. It is pretty much busy-popular place so try reserving table in advance. For me it is not already what i prefer in japanese restaurants - food i quite simple and quality is not top - it is not bad although, i would call it quite good (but not top) - probably i would prefer to pay for example 30 eur / person and have 2-3 awesome dishes but anyway - it was nice experience, sushi is really good and if you like shrimps and squids - pay 15 Eur and eat...
Read moreHORRIBLE! The sushi wasn't good at all! Yes the sushi is really cheap. But I can 't reccommend it despite the price. They don't even use the right rice. The rice is very sticky and too sweet to be real sushi rice. The Nori (seaweed) has already been in contact with moisture and which makes it chewy and makes it smell. The sushi itself is too big, they use way too much rice compared to fish. The fish wasn't too bad; it didn't smell but it was not very tasteful. I can't even talk about the duplings. We've ordered like 7 things and ended up not eating everything. Because it is so cheap I didn't feel bad to pay and grab a pizza next door. The communication was really hard as well because the staff barely spoke English. We had to point at the pictures to order the food and drinks and make up sign language for questions.
All with all, please spare yourself...
Read moreWe recently moved to Funchal from the U.S., and my husband and son are sushi fanatics. We love Nagoya and go here at least once, sometimes twice, a week. We always sit on the patio in the same section to have the same waiter (Subash). We get great service, and Subash is so helpful with our small children--he even remembers their favorite orders.
The food is very good, the fish very fresh, and the atmosphere is nice. You can order sashimi here as well (not just rolls and nigiri) which is a pleasant surprise as well as hibachi-style meats and vegetables. The little noodle dishes are also very tasty! Prices are clearly advertised and the quality of the food is well worth the money.
Love this place and definitely...
