Restaurante O.Mex — Restaurant in Funchal

This restaurant is in a food court type setting with other various restaurants surrounding it. Different types of food, sushi, burgers, pizza, Indian, Irish, Portuguese and Mexican. We ordered an app first, stuffed jalapeños with cheddar, very good but I think they were frozen. You order at counter. We got a platter of 2 pulled beef tacos, 2 large portions of chicken quesadillas and some nachos but they were really just chips with cheese sauce for dipping. The beef in the taco was very good but I hate that the shell was a soft corn tortilla. The quesadillas would have been good had they had real cheese in them. I hate soft cheese. I’m Mexican and I would never serve that disgusting soft stuff. Since I only ate 1 taco, of which I dipped my chips in and got rid of the soft corn tortilla, I decided to try the burger restaurant but found out they don’t actually make their empanadas so I settled for fries, which...

We indulged in burritos, quesadillas, and tacos, each bursting with high-quality ingredients, perfectly seasoned meats, and fresh toppings.

To top it all off, we enjoyed a cold, refreshing beer, all for under £40! The quality and portion sizes far exceeded expectations, making this one of the best-value and best tasting meals we’ve had when visiting Madeira.

Hands down the best burrito I’ve ever had! Came back for round two as I’m writing, still top quality and taste, absolutely amazing. Honestly, can’t believe the ratings are low and it hasn’t been overcrowded in here yet. It’s located in this really cozy industrial rustic food court, very calm. O.mex is welcoming, the service is on top, the burrito is beyond-explanation-delicious! So much better than stopping by the obvious touristic food spots for an okay meal.

Please whoever is reading this in hesitation, trust me in visiting O.mex, you won’t regret it and you’ll be leaving with a memorable flavour. Definitely more than worth it, money wise and in terms of quality regarding all areas!
