we were welcomed with a nice glass of prosecco, which was a lovely treat from the house... however one of the main courses we ordered was inedable, the octopus was drowned in olive of oil..but that was not the worst part... the waitress came to clean the table, asked how was the dinner and while she was doing that, all the plates she was collecting, dropped and the olive oil splashed on my partner s top... completely damaged her top and ruined our evening... the manager didn’t even come to say sorry and the most unreasonable for what happened and asked if we were ok... after completely being ignored for what happened we got the bill and we were charged in full for the dinner, without any consideration that my partner s top was damaged and our evening completely ruined... we stayed for our deserts as we went for a set menu, and we had coffee included in the menu.. I ordered a decaf cappuccino, served on a wine glass, so hot that I burned my lips , my worst cappuccino ever, I was asked why I didn’t drink or like it, I told them and the response I got back it was, this is the way how we served cappuccino here... guys lots of potential but loads of learning if you want to look as an excellent restaurant (long way to go) you should learn some essentials, pretty basic ones Dinner was ruined, bad service and food, pretending of being 5 stars hotel... you shouldn’t charge customer in full for such a bad...

The food we enjoyed very much and returned for a second visit. The beef Wellington was really good as we're the lamb chops. The meat was cooked perfectly, there was a good selection of fish and meat dishes, all presented beautifully. You get veg and potatoes to share regardless of the main dish. The potatoes I liked, even the sweet potatoes, the carrots not so much, but hey that's just my preference. The fish soup was good, its a soup not a bisque so be prepared, and the tomato soup also a favourite. The stuffed mushrooms, was a small dish, next time I'll get the beef carpaccio. I tried a bit of the shrimp with avocado, very nice.
Dessert wise, the apple Charlotte I enjoyed the most, as I don't like chocolate and had a bad time wirh honey cake elsewhere so avoided that, disappointed I didn't try it as it looked great, my tiramisu was on the wet side.
The "concept" menu they offer for €52, I felt was good value. You get a welcome prosecco, followed by white House wine with starters, red house with mains and a nice sweet madeira wine to end, plus coffee. The wine was refilled, so not just one glass.
All in all a very pleasant 2 evenings, they have entertainment, a singer one night, saxophonist the next. The staff were attentive without being...
Read moreWe were disappointed with all three of our mains unfortunately. We didn't order any starters nor desserts so that made them all the more significant! The seafood risotto was totally underwhelming. Not flavoursome sadly. Very little variety of seafood in it (mostly mussels plus some prawns and one cockle!) but what was weird was that the prawns still had their shells and heads on- very odd for a risotto, and made for a fiddly eating experience. The spinach and ricotta ravioli was bland and soggy with a lot of sauce. The vegetarian 'canelone' (Virginia Woolf) was interesting but basically mainly finely chopped broccoli, carrot and mushroom, with the tiniest amount of (in fact imperceptible) seitan. And too small a portion. I wanted a veggie portion, not a diet portion! Service was very good and it has interesting decor. We were placed very close to a very good but very loud trumpet player who barely had a break all evening. In summary, over-priced and...
