Today, we had the pleasure of visiting Rise&Dine, a brunch restaurant located on Rua da Carreira in Funchal, Madeira. Our experience was truly memorable. We tried several dishes from the menu: I chose the Mediterranean breakfast, my daughter went for the British breakfast, and my husband had the Mexican breakfast. To complement our choices, we also ordered the Madeiran breakfast and the pistachio pancake breakfast. Every dish was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. The space itself is extremely welcoming, with tasteful and aesthetically pleasing décor. I must also highlight the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, who demonstrated excellent knowledge of the menu and helped make the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend trying the Mango Matcha – a surprising and refreshing drink. Without a doubt, Rise&Dine has become one of my favourite spots to enjoy a lovely meal, whether with friends or family. I will definitely...

What a great find! We were on our way to a different brunch spot when this place caught our eye. After seeing its 4.9 rating, we decided to change our plans—and we’re so glad we did. The host Pedro was exceptionally kind and very knowledgeable about the menu. He helped us to make the perfect order!

We ordered the salmon toast, which was absolutely delicious, and the Madeira Breakfast—wow! The flavors were rich, layered, and perfectly balanced. My husband called the Madeira Breakfast “banana bread on steroids,” and he was right. It’s truly a one-of-a-kind delight that I’d recommend everyone try as a shared finishing dessert.

I also ordered the carrot-orange-ginger juice and was surprised by the generous portion size. Definitely great value for the money. The modern atmosphere, warm lighting, great music, and relaxed vibe made the whole experience perfect. We’ve already saved it in our phones as a favorite. Five...

Don’t Eat Here! If you already have a favourite spot for brunch, then don’t eat here! If you do, your old spot is going to miss you because you won’t want to eat anywhere else. I was staying just up the street from Rise and Dine and finally managed to stop and eat there on my last day in Funchal. That was probably a good thing. Otherwise I’d have eaten there every day! The food is THAT good. Pedro was right on all counts with his recommendations: the Eggs Royal and the Banana Bread French Toast (and the smoothie) were outstanding. The service was also top notch and you could tell that staff selection and training were a key part of the restaurant’s overall strategy. And the clean, simple decor, soft music and general ambiance are a perfect accompaniment. I can’t wait to go back to Madeira, and to Funchal, and when I do I’ll definitely be eating here...
