There is a reason you need reservations here.

Be forewarned. They open for dinner at 8pm so be prepared for a later dinner than usual.

BUT! It's worth it.

I have heard of many horror stories pertaining to dining experiences, (to be honest, the states aren't that great either)

But I was blown away by the service and friendliness of both our server and the hostess! One of the best customer service experiences I've had at any restaurant in the world.

Now, let's get to the food~

Amazing bread with 3 different tyoes of butter made from truffles, tomatoes, and herbs.

Then we had a salmon appetizer which was different, but good, but my goodness, their Duck and Cod Fish entrees were PHENOMENAL!

My mind was blown. If you look at the pictures, accompanying the duck was what we thought was the best Mashed Potatoes I've ever had, but I found out from our server that it was Celery Puree!!!!! O.M.G it was so creamy and delicious!!!!

We already made reservations for our final night in Portugal later this week!

The portions aren't huge but the presentation is exquisite, the taste is delicious, and surprisingly, the price does not hurt your wallet at all!

So I made a reservation this time and we got the beautiful 2nd floor!

Once again, the presentation was exquisite, the food was delightful and made your palate go crazy!

Our servers both nights were Carlos and Camilla and they were both phenomenal! Having been in the restaurant business myself for over a decade, I am jealous of the owner for having two amazing servers like these two.

And the hostess Sarah is also a delight, she is very warm, welcoming, and she will go the extra mile to ensure that you have an amazing experience!

A hippish eatery hidden on a secluded street. The ambience is cool and relaxed but despite the hint of modern arty farty design, the food served wasn't too fusion. They are still preparing food in a more traditional way albeit with some new ideas. 34 encourages customers to inclusively share rather than ordering individual portions, as the serving each is enuf for 2 pax. Quite liked the the 2 mains: fried prawns with dashi shavings and the buratta cheese in a pesto soup. Both were unique with subtly light flavours. The mains was also different. It's chargrilled fillet steak from Brazil with a side compliment of tempura crumbs with bacon bits. The meat was juicy and flavoured lightly with salt but only one problem for me, personally would have preferred it to be a tad more gearing towards middle raw rather than raw (they didn't asked me for doneness). Also the meat was extremely lean without a single hint of marble fats, making the texture somewhat tough and chewy. Spoiled for wagyu I reckoned.. 😊. Overall, a good...

Dank Tripadvisor wurden wir auf unserer Suche nach einem vegetarischen Restaurant schnell fündig. Keine zwei Gehminuten von unserem Appartement GuimaGold entfernt, haben wir uns für das Restaurante 34 entschieden. Was soll ich sagen, es hat uns regelrecht umgehauen. Wir gehen beide in der Regel nicht mit allzu viel Erwartungen an die Sache heran, denn alkoholfreie Alternativen und vegetarische Angebote gibt es in der Region, in der wir in Portugal leben, kaum bis gar nicht. Als wir im Restaurante 34 ankommen, werden wir sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend begrüßt und waren vom ersten Moment an glücklich. Wir haben einen Aperitif ohne Alkohol bestellt. Der Kellner fragte, ob wir uns überraschen lassen wollten und servierte uns einen herrlichen Aperitif, der perfekt zur sommerlichen Abendstimmung passte. Die Temperaturen waren tagsüber unerträglich heiß und so langsam kühlte es ein wenig ab. Wir bekamen einen Aperitif aus Limette, Eischnee, Zitrone und Minze serviert und konnten unser Glück kaum fassen. Der perfekte Drink, um unseren Urlaub einzuläuten. Die drei vegetarischen Vorspeisen, bestehend aus Gyosa, Tacos und Pilzen, die heiß und scharf in einer kleinen gusseisernen Pfanne serviert wurden, waren der absolute Hammer. Jedes einzelne Gericht ist unbeschreiblich gut, auf den Punkt und mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail gekocht und serviert. Zum Hauptgang hatten wir ein Ceviche und ein vegetarisches Curry. Auch die beiden Hauptgänge waren köstlich und dazu gab es einen alkoholfreien Mojito sowie einen alkoholfreien Pfirsich Maracuja Cocktail. Auch hier merkt man, dass mit viel Liebe und Leidenschaft kreiert wird. Kein wässriges, schnell zusammengebrautes Getränk, sondern ein Cocktail mit unterschiedlichen Geschmackskomponenten und alles andere als langweilig.

I was fascinated by the explanation of BATERA (the vocabulary was Japanese, with salmon, furikake, and rice written on it), and I was looking forward to what kind of time I would have there. It was also nice to see them serve my chopsticks. The rice was a very refined and carefully seasoned dish, with a crispy exterior and the raw salmon falling apart, making the most of the rice grains. The PICANHA also had a perfect balance between the tenderness of the meat and the crunchy texture of the garnish. Even though I only happened to come across it on foot, I feel like I've been treated to the best possible time. Thank you.

I was fascinated by the explanation of BATERA (the vocabulary was Japanese, with salmon, furikake, and rice written on it), and I was looking forward to what kind of time I would have there. It was also nice to see them serve my chopsticks. The rice was a very refined and carefully seasoned dish, with a crispy exterior and the raw salmon falling apart, making the most of the rice grains. The PICANHA also had a perfect balance between the tenderness of the meat and the crunchy texture of the garnish. Even though I only happened to come across it on foot, I feel like I've been treated to the best possible time. Thank you.
