Primavera Ristorante Trattoria — Restaurant in Lagoa

Dishonest manager. We were two couples walking past last night when the manager stopped us and told us to give his place a try. I said I was looking for fish, but my friends wanted Italian. We walked up to the fish case. I said it’s empty aside from some not too appealing looking salmon which isn’t even a local fish. He swished the ice around, and there was no fish in it, he said don’t worry, don’t worry the server will take good care of you. We have some fresh fish in the back. That was a complete lie. So our friends got pizza and I ended up eating a salad. It was very dishonest of him. Dude, just be upfront and say yeah it’s Monday, we’re out of fish because we didn’t get a delivery today. Which is what the server said when I asked him about it. When I saw the manager and I said you don’t actually have any fish. He just said - when are you leaving? Why don’t you just come back on a day that we do have fish? How rude ! My friend said the pizza was OK...

Table booked for 8pm. Arrived said our table wasn't ready which is fair enough. Informed we could have a free drink while we wait. 15 minutes of waiting, we went to find the waiter and ordered a drink. They forgot 1 of the drinks. Eventually sat down at 8.45pm Ordered at 9pm. Asked for kids food with starters. 9.43pm asked the Manager where our food was. Rude!!!!! What a horrible person. Food eventually arrived at 9.55pm. Except for the 1 pasta dish they forgot!! The food was after that very good. Enjoyed the Mafiosi pizza. Asked for the bill, then guess what..Ah yes you guessed correctly, the so called free drinks were included. We assumed it was a mistake, but to form .. the rather rude and arrogant owner insisted they'd never offered a free drink. Eventually they took it off the bill and we paid. The violinist was wonderful. Such a shame as people had told me the Owner was a nightmare, but I assumed it couldn't be that bad....

We came here as we were craving some pasta, and had seen that the menu outside advertised a vegetarian option as we are both vegetarian. We were quickly sat down despite having no reservation and the service was attentive. Strangely, it turned out that the menu outside was different to the menu we were given in the restaurant, as the option we had seen had disappeared. Nonetheless, we found another option from an, admittedly limited, vegetarian selection and were happy with this.

Drinks arrived quickly and the food didn't take too long. We were a little disappointed at the portion size given the price, but the food was tasty and well presented.

After opting out of dessert and coffees, the service seemed to become a bit less attentive and we had to wait quite a while to be able to get anyone's attention for the bill.

Overall, this would be a great place for a nicer meal out for non-vegetarians and those looking to splash...
