Review for Tapas da Vila
I recently dined at Tapas da Vila and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. My partner and I ordered the “Especial do Dia” which included Sea bass fillets with boiled potatoes and salad, as well as Rump steak with rice and beans.
The Sea bass fillets were a letdown as the fish did not seem fresh, and the vegetables in the dish were sour and clearly out of order. It seemed like they had been boiled for days, giving them an unpleasant taste. This was a concern, especially since I was dining with a child. The salad was equally disappointing, prepared seemingly a few days before, and was inedible.
While the fish was acceptable, it did not meet expectations in terms of taste and freshness. The Rump steak and rice were decent but nothing exceptional.
Moreover, when I raised these issues with the waiter, the response was dismissive. There was no apology or genuine concern shown, making me feel like my feedback was unimportant.
Overall, I would not recommend Tapas da Vila based on my experience. The quality of the food was concerning, and there were definite hygiene issues in the kitchen. The staff's attitude, especially the lack of response to customer feedback, was disappointing.
In conclusion, I would advise potential diners to steer clear of this restaurant to avoid the risk of subpar and questionable food quality. There are better dining options available elsewhere that value customer satisfaction and serve up fresh,...
Read moreThe owner is very unfriendly to put in a polite manner. The food was tasty but in general the atendency, not only by the owner, but also staff, was terrible. We almost had to beg for little things, like salt, oil, napkins. We felt really unwelcomed. We only stayed because we had already order the couvert. They were really unflexibel. We wanted to sit inside because it was windy. There was no one sitting inside. It was empty. And they were really unhappy because we asked that. They were definitely not happy about working. Angry faces for everything. It was almost like they really didn't want to be there. Which made us wish we were also npt there. We almost felt like we should say sorry for being asking to be attended amd...
Read moreWe had a great view of the restaurants on one side of the main square of Carvoeiro from our Airbnb but on the other side, right beneath us, was Tapa da Vila which should not be missed. Everything we ordered was great. The broiled shrimp were served in oil and with big pieces of garlic Ask for bread so you can mop it all up. It was in the menu as a spicy but our waitress had no problem with us removing the pepper. The chorizo croquettes were perfect, crispy outside and creamy inside served with mayonnaise. The roasted chorizo was just as it should be with coarse chopped meat and fat, texture and flavor. We ordered Super Bock beer (It’s literally everywhere) and very good light and...
