We visited with friends on a week night and overall it was a disappointing experience. They brought pappadoms to the table like a couvert without us asking for them, the onion bhaji starter was okay but the lamb samosa was salty. The naan breads were served 15 minutes before the mains, and as for the mains these were most disappointing as my dish was nowhere near medium spiced as per the menu and my friends Vindaloo was no more than a lamb stew really with virtually no heat whatsoever. The biriyani and butter chicken were also nothing special. The service was friendly but slow, and our 2nd drinks order was forgotten completely. At the end we were asked about our food and my friend mentioned the Vindaloo having no heat and all we got back was that itâd be mentioned to the chef, but surely, any chef would know if a recognised hot curry had no heat before it came out? To make matters worse, when we asked for the card machine we were told it was cash only. Yes we missed the MB sign with a cross through it, but if weâd been tourists we could be forgiven for not knowing this stood for Multibanco so they must surely have had awkward situations with people not having enough cash on them to pay. One final annoying thing was we were not given new cutlery for the mains which meant any food still on the knives and forks was dry by the time the main courses came.. Overall, a poor evening and one we wonât be repeating as thereâs so many better quality Asian restaurants...
Read moreUnfortunately our family of 5 had a terrible experience at the Piano Garden from start to finish tonight. The waiter found it very difficult to understand us and we had to repeat everything multiple times. After his initial reluctance to take our drinks order before the food order, he forgot to bring one of the drinks and also forgot the bottle opener. We found several hairs in the samosas we had for starters. When we raised this we the waiter, the manager came over. She was quite rude and leaned over me with her face mask removed saying that it was impossible as no staff members had hair like that. However she did not charge us for the samosas. The 4 Indian main courses arrived together, but the waiter completely forgot to order my daughterâs pizza. She had to wait for this to be prepared by which time the rest of us had finished our meals. The Indian food in general was only lukewarm and we felt it was poor quality compared to other Indian restaurants in the area. On ordering a second drink, my bottle was left unopened again until I managed to get the waiterâs attention a good 15 minutes later. All in all a bad experience and we wonât be...
Read moreWe had a fantastic meal here, our friends took us to this beautiful restaurant as they have been going there for 19years. It has a beautiful garden setting as well as a really lovely indoor restaurant. Unfortunately there was no live music but apparently that is reserved for Wednesday & Saturday. We were showed to our table quickly after arriving and some popadoms and pickles arrived soon afterwards. We were given the menus and allowed time to make our selection while they prepared our drinks. At first I was not sure as itâs not a usual mixture Pizza & Curry however I need not have worried as both were fabulous. I had a lamb vindaloo that was both spicy & very tasty, the lamb was melt in the mouth. One of my friends opted for the vegetarian pizza that looked equally delicious. The food came quickly and was hot for a change ( not often in any restaurant) we enjoyed a jug of rad sangria with it this again was lovely. The Restraunt is just off the main road and has its one car park this made life easy as the road outside was packed. All in all a great evening and if you are looking for something a little different/ romantic I would recommend...
