I had very high expectations for this place considering all the great reviews. Beautiful atmosphere, cool concept and perfect service. Food was good, but not exceptional. We went for the tasting menu, but the plates were just too small. We left the restaurant and we were hungry and we don’t usually eat a lot. 70 euros (even if online it says 60) is definitely too much for what you get. Quality (and quantity) price ratio in my opinion is just not there. Decent wine selection. At the end we paid 100 euros per person. A bit too much, especially for Lisbon. (Forgot to take a photo of the fried onions). EDIT: I would like to reply to the restaurant comment. The food was ok. It was just not exceptional. It wasn’t a disaster neither. but I had much better food elsewhere. The sea urchin was 1 for both. That’s 1 euro. Scabbard fish is a very cheap fish. Chicken is chicken and it was good, but you could put a little bit more in the plate. As you can see from the photos, the quantity was miserable. Usually when I go in a place the tasting menu is enough to fill you up. Again, I don’t usually eat a lot, but those quantities are seriously not enough. Hope you will take my comment as...

No offense to Signore Bertoli, but my wife and I considered the Ciclo tasting menu portions to be exactly ideal. She (petite) and I (tall) are physically different in many ways. We have experience with tasting menus in New York City, Tokyo, and several European capital cities. We had spent the day (and some days prior) vigorously traipsing up and down the Lisboa hills and certainly arrived with an appetite. We left perfectly satiated.

The main point to understand about the master chef of Ciclo is that he is an artisan who exercises his considerable skill on the natural materials of the Portuguese terroir. He has passion and ambition, but it is tempered by modesty and pragmatism. He wants to feed you—and he also wants to delight you with compositions that are subtly cunning and even humorous, but like the best art are revealed as inevitable and perfect once encountered.

One of the best meals I have had in years. I would return to Lisboa just to eat again at Ciclo. May you do the same,...

I came to Portugal on a honeymoon with my wife and was traveling to Lisbon as my first city. While looking for a restaurant to have a nice dinner on Saturday, I got to know ciclo and visited after making a reservation. The sparkling wine you recommended made me feel the right amount of carbonation and taste, and all seven menus were delicious. I have been to many famous restaurants in Korea, but the taste of the food was great enough to be remembered for a long time and it gave me a lot of new inspiration. In particular, I felt that the cooking and simplicity of ingredients such as vegetables were exquisite. The staff congratulated me on the honeymoon meal with my wife and served me kindly until the end. I think my experience at ciclo will be remembered for a long time by my wife and I. If I ever come again, I would like to visit. I hope the ciclo staff and the chef will be blessed. Lastly, if the person in charge checks this comment, may I ask for the name of the...

We're two days into a week here in Lisbon but I'm confident this will be one of the best and most memorable experiences during the whole trip. I'm leaving here feeling so lucky that we found this place only 7 months into being open because I have to imagine that just a year from now getting a table on a Friday without a reservation will be impossible. If you are even remotely interested in what you see on the menu, grab a table and prepare yourselves for an inspired experience, both in food and hospitality. Food was seasonally-appropriate, creative, and - most importantly - absolutely delicious. The type of delicious that comes from someone who loves what they do. And the service was thoughtful, incredibly friendly and attentive without being overbearing. I hope I can make a return trip to Lisbon soon if only to have more of their food and service. 10/10 no notes.

Stumbled upon this gem of a place with the coziest vibe in Lisbon. Friendly staff greeted us with warm smiles, and the menu is a treasure trove of local flavors with a modern twist. We tried an array of different dishes, and let me tell you, it was a flavor explosion in every bite—fresh, perfectly seasoned, and everything was cooked to perfection. The presentation was on point, too! We were also recommended a local wine that complemented the dishes beautifully. The desserts were a delicious and delightful end to the meal. The attention to detail in using seasonal ingredients really shined through in every dish. This was the best food my family and I had in Portugal and is a definite must-try when in Lisbon! Definitely a five-star experience with a relaxed, inviting atmosphere that makes you want to linger longer. Can't wait to go back!
