This is the place to go if you want the authentic noodle shop experinece as if you were in a Chinese third tier city. You will find random things in the restaurant like storage boxes and kids doing their (math) homework. The prices are cheap here and portions are big, and the comfort food really hits the spot.
Don't expect any service (as I said it's a very "local" place). The owner is often on her phone or playing a PC game, but don't worry you just go to the counter to tell her what you want and then sit down. You go to the counter to pick up your food when they call it out. Cash only.
The noodles are very good, come in big portions, and you can add parsley, pickled vegetables, or chili oil to it yourself.
Try the "Chinese pizza" which is more like a thin bread pastry with dried pickled vegetables inside. It's crispy and extremely delicious. It's better than bread and is perfect as a side to your noodle soup.
Relax and enjoy. Feel free to slurp your noodles loudly to express pleasure because in China nobody...
Read moreBEST authentic chinese/taiwanese food I've had in Lisbon so far AND at such a low price.
Must order were the dumplings, they're handmade and FULL of stuffing. other places are usually from frozen and way more wrapping than meat ratio. this place was spot on with the flavor and crispiness at the bottom but keeping it soft + plump on top. AAAAND 15 pieces for 5 euros?! other places you're getting 4-6 pieces at about 1 euro each. this was a deal!
Also recommend the Zha Jiang noodles. Good flavor, could tell it was also fresh handmade noodles.
The beef noodle soup was better than all pho I've had here, meat was tender, thick soft noodles. The broth could've had more depth in flavor. Liked that the pickled mustard greens was self serve so can add as much as you want
the lady working the front was kind and helpful. will definitely be ordering delivery from here soon, saw a few glovo drivers picking up orders. perfect with this...
Read moreA nondescript food outlet that lives up to its name "Big Bowl of Noodles" and more. We have been here a couple of times and we never fail to be amazed at its offerings. The hot and sour soup with sweet potato vermicelli is reminiscent of Szechuan cuisine. I also like the Wan Tan Soup ... The wan tan stuffed with pork looks delicate and was yummy. The braised side dishes are a boon to us. My partner likes the beef tendon that is wonderfully braised and tasted like firm, savory and tasty gelatine. The tendons are touted to have therapeutic qualities in TCM. I love the Cold Chicken Feet in a piquant sauce that reminded me of Thai salad. We helped ourselves to generous portions of coriander, chilli oil and other condiments to go with the dishes. The dishes far outweighs its nondescript ambience. Value wise, you cannot get a better deal in the whole of...
