We stayed up the street in the Lisbon Serviced Apartments - Estrela for a couple of weeks. Ended up coming to this place as often as we could. The service was excellent. The staff were very patient with us as we pointed to the various pastries we wanted. Avoided the touristy and trendy Monka Cafe next door. Much preferred the more laid back and local vibe here. Pastries were always delicious and fresh. Coffee was the best. Espressos every morning. This place gets quite busy at times. Occasionally had to have our breakfast standing at the counter which was OK with us. The best part is that I accidentally dropped a 20 euro note on their floor like a goof one morning and didn't notice. After we left, one of the staff members caught up with us walking back to the apartment and returned the cash....

One of the guys there spent almost 10 minutes explaining the different dishes and ingredients to us, because we had no idea what anything was - the patience of an angel.
