Rude service, over-priced, sub-par food
Unless you want to be yelled at while trying to decide what to order, I strongly recommend avoiding this place â especially if youâre a tourist who doesnât speak much Portuguese. I asked a few simple questions and inquired about takeout, only to be met with hostility and pressure to order a large quantity of food I didnât want.
To make matters worse, the dishes were underwhelming, misleadingly described, and overpriced for what was served. This was not only my worst dining experience in Lisbon, but in all of Portugal â perhaps ever. The food was fantastic (had bacalhau a bras and and açorda de gambas with arroz doce for dessert) and the experience with the owner and cook filled the heart not just the belly. Capped the meal off with ginjinha that was made in house which was a perfect ending. We will without a doubt return next time weâre in Lisbon! And I will be thinking about this meal every day for at least the next week...
