Cultivate – More Than A Meal, It’s an Experience
If you’re searching for a sushi spot, a Brazilian restaurant, or a unique fusion dining experience that’s about more than just food, Cultivate is an absolute must-visit. Our evening here was nothing short of incredible. The dishes weren’t just delicious—they rivalled and even surpassed some fine dining experiences we’ve had. Every plate felt thoughtfully created, with flavors that celebrated the best of fusion cuisine, blending Japanese sushi artistry with Brazilian warmth and creativity. This isn’t just a meal—it’s an experience to savor and share. The ambiance was spot on: intimate, welcoming, and designed to make you feel like you’re part of something special. Honestly, it struck that rare balance of relaxed and refined, making it perfect for anyone who wants more than just food placed in front of them. At Cultivate, dining becomes an adventure, one you’ll remember long after the last bite. And the service? Outstanding. Rodney, who was running the entire evening on his own due to unforeseen circumstances, greeted every guest like a friend arriving at his home. He shared stories about his inspiration for the restaurant, stayed genuinely engaged with us, and still somehow found time to make drinks and delicately craft each dish. Watching him balance all of that so seamlessly added to the magic—it felt like being invited into his world. This experience easily makes our list of top dining moments ever, and I cannot recommend Cultivate enough. Whether you’re a sushi lover, curious about Brazilian cuisine, or excited to try innovative fusion dining, this is where you’ll find it done beautifully. Don’t miss it—you’ll walk away with more than just a full stomach; you’ll take with you a memory...

The chef and owner (Rodiney) cooks, serves, and hosts everything himself. You can sit right up front with him at the kitchen counter or join the long table, either together with others or in a smaller group.
The food was fresh, organic, creative, and full of flavor with so much attention to detail. You can choose a set menu with three courses or go à la carte, which makes it easy to enjoy at your own pace. Rodiney was very generous with portions and wine. A sweet gesture we didn’t expect but deeply appreciated.
What really stood out was the atmosphere: no pretension, no need to “fit in.” Just warmth, authenticity, great conversations, and amazing food. The experience feels truly accessible. All you need is an open mind and appetite, and you’ll leave with a happy stomach and an even happier heart.
Also, the options vary from excellent fish to vegan dishes that feel complete and satisfying in their own right.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for amazing food with a personal touch.

Read moreHaving walked to the top of Miradouro da Senhora do Monte we stumbled upon the secret garden bar. Fast forward a few Negroni’s we stumbled out with two new friends Sergio and Angel. We were joyful, tipsy and very hungry! We happened to find Cultivate on Google maps, social eating fusion food. What serendipity! To find a place that focuses on social family-style eating after meeting two new friends. The welcome, the service, the drinks and the food were all incredible. All very reasonably priced! Massive thank you to the chef for accommodating gluten free, the staff even headed upstairs to their flat to get GF soy sauce for our friend. Could not recommend this more highly, a truly joyful experience!...
