First off, I love what they are trying to do here. These are my favourite type of sandwhiches and this is just what Lisbon needed!
The bread was great, the meat was great and a huge portion. Love the gravy dipping sauce too! Awesome :)
My issues were that the sandwhich arrived totally wet / soggy due to the materials used for transport. It was kind of double wrapped and the inside wrapping material kept all of the moisture in meaning when it arrived the sandwhich was totally soggy.
The other issue was that the toppings were a let down. It was soggy wilted greens / courgette / peppers etc. Not the best for slow cooked beef in my opinion. Some pickles / sauerkraut / mustard kind of vibe would be perfect. What they had just added to the soggyness and tasted like something that would be on the side of a roast dinner.
It needed some crunch which could have came from the above pickled options.
Probably will still order again but I will crisp the bread back up in a pan next time and order without any toppings and add my own at home!
It would be a solid 5/5 if they can get the above...
Read moreDuíche is a must visit when in Lisbon. I visited on a weekday early evening. My partner and I shared the Deli Veggie and 4 Cheese. Both were incredible, each mouthful had a slightly different flavour and was delicious. The pickles in both sandwiches were handmade and you could truly taste the care that went into making them have multidimensional flavours. Whilst some may look at the menu and think it is expensive for a sandwich, I think the food here is far more than just a sandwich as each has so many elements. It is clear that time and consideration has been taken to level up the food here. The staff were lovely and the service was quick. We spoke briefly to the owner before leaving who was very friendly and helpful. Overall, a must visit whether just for lunch or a lighter dinner. I will certainly visit here again when I visit Lisbon in future. (Tip: If this place feels a little far of a walk I would recommend using the Bolt app to grab a quick taxi...
Read moreFirst thing you should know - this is not a slap-dash Subway chain, so your artisan sandwich made with love will take some time (in fairness, the staff are working at top speed, noone is slacking). And just as you start to get cranky, it arrives and all is forgiven after one bite. Delish duiche!
I had the Piripiri chicken, will defintely have it again, the caramilised onion really went well. My other half had the grilled vegie, probably the best veg sandwich I've ever tasted. Excellent use of basil/pesto.
Recommend getting the sides, both the coleslaw and the carrot salad were perfect. Owner is very friendly and on top of everything. He and his excellent playlist make for a good vibe.
Can't wait to try the pulled...
