When traveling solo in Portugal it’s not always easy to find a place to dine as most restaurants have very limited seating. I try to plan ahead but you cannot make a reservation for one! Fell into Hororato. I don’t even eat hamburgers at home! So pleased to see you can order many of their burger “mini” which was perfect for me. The burgers come with salad or fries. I ordered the Hot Mex! burger with the salad and expected maybe three leaves of iceberg. Holy Cow! It was a full up salad with tomatoes, romaine, arugula, onions, corn. It was awesome!!! The Hot Mex! burger was delicious. And service? Attentive, on the spot, perfect! Now I am looking for more locations for the rest...

I've been seeing burgers on menus throughout my stay, but have been hesitant (I'm a bit of a burger snob), so when I didn't have anywhere specific I wanted to go, this place seemed a good option. I'm glad I did. Right next to Jeronimos Monestary, great place to people watch, and as I mentioned, surprisingly good burger. I got a falcão burger, rare, with sweet potatoes fries and a berry good mocktail. When we sat down, waiter offered 2 fried balls as starter before taking our order. It seemed as though the starter was on the house but we were charged 3 euros (1.5 per piece) when we asked for the check. Did not like the feeling of being charged for something we did not order.
