We went to see a very important football game (The 2024 CAF Champions League final) in this ''Shisha Lounge", which is supposed to be a restaurant at the same time.
So, picture this, the place is divided into 2 spaces: The restaurant is on the outside and can be found once you open the door, and the shisha lounge (aka coffeeshop) is inside.
Anyways, the ''shisha lounge'' was empty 30 minutes before the game, but all the tables were ''booked", except for one table that had 5 people in it and another mini table that had 2 chairs and was on the left side of the TV with a very bad view on the match.
I sat at the available table (that had 5 guys who told me that they ordered a shisha so that they could watch the game), and I ordered a cup of tea and a big bottle of water.
The game started and, to my surprise, it was a very bad IPTV service with a lot of interruptions. I waited for a friend of mine to come, along with 3 other individuals, and then the waiter came asking them to order food (or something else, aka a 20 euro shisha), to watch the game.
When we spoke to the waiters, who weren't that welcoming to be honest (except for one of them), and they kept insisting that this is what the owner wants and that they can do nothing about it. (Both the internet and the game got suspended during the half-time break by the way), and we had to argue with the waiters to get them back. They had to make everything seem like a burden for them by the way (even when the person that ordered the shisha asked for a faster service because he'd been waiting for about an hour).
I don't recommend this place because of its opportunistic policy (this is because we had anywhere else where we could watch the game, and they knew that). It's a disgrace to the arab and Muslim community who is often famous for its generosity...
Read moreDuring my stay in Lisbon, I had the chance to dine at Jafra Restaurant, and the experience was simply outstanding. I enjoyed it so much that I went back twice, even though I was only staying in the city for a week. From the moment you arrive, you are welcomed by a warm and friendly atmosphere, perfect for spending a great time with friends or family.
The service is excellent: the staff is both attentive, friendly, and very efficient, offering fast service without ever compromising on quality. As for the food, everything was perfect: the dishes are truly delicious, featuring a variety of carefully prepared Arabic specialties, rich in flavor. Each dish was beautifully presented and generously served.
Jafra Restaurant is also ideally located in the city, close to a metro station, making it very easy to reach for both visitors and locals. Another great advantage is that the restaurant also offers a Lounge service with Shisha, perfect for extending the evening in an even more relaxed setting.
Finally, the prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the service and the food offered, which makes the experience even more enjoyable.
In short, a place I highly recommend to anyone looking to have a great...
Read moreThis place is fully halal Middle Eastern restaurant which we found when we arrived in Lisbon.
We had: ▪️Hummus - this was smooth, delicious and creamy. The flavour was on point and the waem bread it comes with was super fresh. ▪️Moajanat Jebneh - these were like mini calzones. They were smaller than expected but scrumptious morsels nonetheless. ▪️Sopa de Lentilha - my friend had this lentil soup. She said it was very good, a decent portion size and wonderful flavour. It teams well with the fresh bread and the lentils have a good bite. ▪️Shish Tawook - the chicken was cooked well but had a very subtle flavour. The ricr was unexpectedly spiced but tasty and added the missing flavour to the dish. Fries were good too, pretty standard. Lol btw asking for chilli sauce was interesting as they give like a chimichurri sauce with only a bit of heat, didn't really add much.
Overall we really enjoyed, the staff were friendly and food was delightful. If you're ever in Lisbon and in need of halal food, I'd defo recommend...
